Task Task Task Task Introduction This term we have been learning about some of the art principles - contrast, emphasis, repetition and pattern. Artists use these principles as tools/tricks to organise the elements of art within a work of art. Focus Here is a recap of the principles we have covered this term: CONTRAST is the arrangement of opposite elements: light vs dark, rough vs smooth, large vs small. It’s often shown in by using opposite elements. It’s used to create visual interest and drama in a piece of art. EMPHASIS is the part of the design that catches the viewer's attention. Usually the artist will make one area stand out by contrasting it with other areas. The area could be different in size, colour, texture, shape, etc. REPETITION refers to one object or shape repeated. Introduction This lesson is part one of a two-part Assessment Task! You have two weeks to complete this task, so it is a good idea to start this week and finish it next week. Last week, we focused on the different music that you can hear in a film, this was known as a Score. This week we are going to use rides in a theme park to work out the music. If it is a slow ride like the Teacups, the music would probably be slow. If it is a crazy rollercoaster, would the same music suit it? Assessment Task! You have two weeks to complete this task, so it is a good idea to start

this week and finish it next week. Last week, we focused on the different music that you can hear in a film, this was known as a Score. Introduction We are now starting a mini unit on fitness! We will be demonstrating ways to stay fit at home and will be setting fitness goals and aim to achieve them over the upcoming weeks! Firstly, as always, we will warm up our bodies to get us ready for action! Click me to start a high intensity workout!

AND/OR

Introduction This week is the end of our Solar Research unit! You will get to create a comprehensive presentation using all the information you gathered in the Solar Research Worksheet, as well as details of your TinkerCAD design! Before we get started, here are some links that you may need to complete this assessment:

Planet Research Worksheet

Lesson 1: Getting onto TinkerCAD

Lesson 2: Using TinkerCAD to measure and change your design

3D Solar Project - Details about the presentation

Activity Make sure you have completed the Planet Research Worksheet before doing the presentation. If you have not finished your TinkerCAD design yet, you can still include it in this presentation.

PATTERN is a combination of elements or shapes being repeated.

Explore This week you will be completing an assessment task to show all the great learning you have been doing in art. To show your knowledge of the four principles (contrast, emphasis, repetition and pattern) you will be creating a PowerPoint presentation. Watch this video! Click on this link. Select File / Download / Microsoft PowerPoint. Then select Enable Editing and File / Save As ‘your name’ onto your desktop. Edit the boring template to include your amazing knowledge and ideas! Things you must include (these are set out in the template):

Front cover page (name, grade, title).

A slide for each principle; contrast, emphasis, repetition and pattern.

For each of those slides you must include a definition (in your own words to the best of your ability) and artwork by famous artists that show/demonstrate the art principle. Please name the artist and the artwork.

Next, select one or more principles of art and illustrate the art term to visually show what the term means. It can just be a simple drawing. Take a photo and upload/insert to a slide.

Finally, complete a 3, 2, 1 reflection on your final slide:

- 3 things I have learned… - 2 things I found challenging… - 1 BIG question I still have…

Make sure you look through the rubric of what I expect from you and strive for top points!!

Part 1/2 ASSESSMENT TASK! When you are finished and happy

with your Musical Theme Park, upload it to Microsoft Teams >

Specialists > Performing Arts > Musical Theme Park and save it as your name to show Ms Morgan. Remember the DISNEY QUIZ from last week? DISNEY QUIZ Here are the answers! 1. Lion King: Circle of Life 2. Aladdin: A Whole New World 3. The Little Mermaid: Part of Your World 4. The Jungle Book: Bare Necessities 5. Mary Poppings: Chim Chim Cheree 6. Snow White: Heigh Ho 7. Pocahontas: Colours of the Wind 8. Mulan: Reflection 9. Toy Story: You've Got a Friend in Me 10. Hercules: Go the Distance How many songs did you get correct? I only scored 3 points! Did you score more than me?

Main Activity: Fitness Assessment This activity is an Assessment Task that will take 3 weeks to complete. You are going to work through a PowerPoint and by the end of week 9 you will upload it onto Microsoft Teams. This Assessment Task is all about goal setting, creating and working through a plan to achieve your goal. Make sure you download your own copy of the FITNESS ASSESSMENT Template. Week 1 you will need to complete up to Slide 3 of the PowerPoint. Slide 1 – Insert your Name and Grade. Slide 2 – Make a fitness goal. Make sure it is something you are going to have fun doing. If you can’t think of something here are some ideas:

Skipping 100 times in 1 minute.

Doing a certain amount of push ups in 1 minute.

Being able to do a handstand.

Being able to do the splits.

Holding a plank for 3 minutes.

If you think of another fitness goal, work with it, these are here for anyone who can’t think of something. Slide 3 – Create a plan to help you achieve your fitness goal. e.g.

If you are having trouble, have a look at Miss Morgan’s FITNESS ASSESSMENT Example. This will show you what we expect!

You can choose what software you’d like to use for this assessment. (PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, Video) You can make a single poster containing all the information, or a slide show. You may even wish to record yourself going through all your answers and make a video! All information must be paraphrased. This means that large parts of writing should not be copied and pasted straight from the internet. Facts and numbers are ok, but if it is whole sentences, then you need to change the wording into words you would use. Click here for a clip explaining how to paraphrase. Each part will be scored out of 3 using this rubric: 0 = Not included 1 = Basic understanding 2 = Shows a good understanding 3 = Excellent understanding of the topic Part A – Planet Research: Using the information gathered in your Planet Research Worksheet, create a presentation outlining everything you know about you selected planet. You need to include ALL information that was part of the worksheet, however bonus points will be awarded if you include extra, interesting information. This extra information can be anything you want to include! Part B – TinkerCAD Include a labelled picture of your TinkerCAD design. Using snipping tool, take an image of your design, and label it.

Page 3: GRADE 5: 24th August 28 August · 2020. 8. 23. · Part A – Planet Research: Using the information gathered in your Planet Research Worksheet, create a presentation outlining everything

I have not created an example this week as I would like to see what you come up with! Feel free to include anything else you think is relevant. Remember: check and follow the

instructions on each slide, and be creative😊

ASSESSMENT TASK!

Submit your PowerPoint on Microsoft Teams > Specialists > Art >

Week 7. Save it as your name to show Mrs Gilligan and Ms Keem!

Something fun Now the assessment is all done, time for something fun! Food Art Turn your lunch or snack into a cool artwork. Google food art to find more inspiration 😊

Part 1/3 ASSESSMENT TASK! Upload what you have done so far

for your FITNESS ASSESSMENT TASK to Microsoft Teams > Specialists >

Physical Education > FITNESS ASSESSMENT. Save it as your name

to show Mr Henshaw or Ms Morgan.

Health: A great way to improve our balance is to do Pilates frequently! Don’t know what Pilates is? Try this beginner Pilates workout here! Fun active game at home: Towel Tag: Find out how to play here! Two players (or more) are needed for this game. Mark out a playing area: Usually a large square or rectangle. Tuck a small tea towel or similar into your pants or pocket. On go - try to take another plays tea towel out of their pocket. Stay inside the playing area. If you take someone’s towel out, you get a point! First to 10 points wins!

You need to include arrows to show the different parts of your design. I suggest snipping your design from different angles so you can show off every part of your design. Can you name all the parts? Part C – Justification You need to justify why you included the elements of your TinkerCAD design. For example:

Why did you do a rover/satellite?

What reason was there for different elements of your design (wheel size, any extras you included etc)

Did your design need to change because of your planet’s atmosphere/weather/size? For example, if your planet has a rocky surface, maybe you needed to have large wheels.

Tell me why you designed your TinkerCAD

this way.

If you upload all three parts, you automatically pass! If you don’t upload all three parts, do what you can, because whatever is missing will be made up in class later this year.

ASSESSMENT TASK! Submit your Presentation on

Microsoft Teams > Specialists > STEM> Week 7. Save it as your name

to show Mr B!
