The Australian Outback

The Outback of Australia is what we call the wild parts of Australia. It is a hot sandy desert. There are small towns in the Outback but they are a long way from each other. When people get sick they need to call the “flying doctor.” This is a doctor that uses a plane to fly from a hospital to any town in the Outback. The plane will land in an airfield and the doctor will go to help whoever is sick.

The plane needs to have enough petrol to get to the sick person and also to get back to the hospital. The hospital needs to have an engineer who can do repairs on the plane.
