God is at work in and through Grace Memorial Baptist Church. We rejoice with those who declared their saving

faith and repentance during April through believer’s baptism. We are grateful to those who have followed God’s leadership to serve Him through the ministries of GMBC and have presented themselves for church membership. Our hearts fill to abundance by witnessing the miracle of Gift and her family among us. Thank you to so many who invested time, money, food, love, and prayer on behalf of this sweet child’s future. God was gracious to allow us this privilege. Our pastor search committee has been prayerfully at work through-out the past months. They have worked through another large number of possible pastors. Now they are entering into critical discussions, seeking our Lord’s confirmation for a final recommendation to the con-gregation. This is a time for us to bathe the committee with our prayers as they focus their work and listen carefully for God’s voice regarding the future of our church. The constitution and bylaws task force worked tirelessly to present thorough and careful recommendations. The Sunday evening congre-gational discussions were good-spirited, direct, open, and constructive. Dr. Wascom offered winsome and clear direction to keep the discus-sions focused and the process helpful. The amended recommendations adopted strongly by the congregation this past Sunday evening should help to clear up the inadvertent confusion over several important issues encountered last fall. May will be an exciting month for our congregation. On May 6 our children will present God of This City with the help of Lynda Palao and her great team of volunteers. We will express gratitude for mothers on May 13, Mothers Day. On May 20 our youth choir will help lead worship and we will celebrate our members who have achieved an important academic milestone and are graduating. The last Sunday of the month we will remember those who have given their lives in service to secure and defend our national freedoms. God is indeed at work in and through our congregation. The future of GMBC is as bright and hopeful as the promises and grace of God! With gratitude and love, Brother Dennis

What’s Coming Up! VBS-June 18-22 Mission Fuge - July 9-14, University of Mobile

Hello from the Kid’s Wing!

I hope that all is well with everyone!

The state Bible drill trip was wonderful! (Even the most difficult of trips in the past have so many blessings!) In fact this entire year has been a huge blessing. Memorizing the scriptures isn't easy, but when you make it fun, it sure helps! Let's face it, we all should be memorizing scripture to the best of our abilities. You may not always have your Bible handy, or even your Bible app, (I hope you have one). What you have hidden in your heart, the Lord will use frequently when your eyes are on Him.

VBS is right around the corner, we need a couple volunteers, mostly in the very young to young categories... Please contact Kim Grubbs or myself if you haven't already. AND EVERYONE BE IN PRAYER! This is a wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord and see Him work. We usually see children saved, and we also see children grow! I also see adults who are serving encouraged, and stretched, and most often thankful. It is all around wonderful, so I hope you can serve in some capacity.

The Lord is our refuge and strength,

Mitch
