Preface

Birsinghpur Pali Located in the railway Station

Katni to Bilaspur it has famous Temple ma Birasini devi

so the name called birsinghpur pali and also covred with

SECL and sanjay Gandhi thermal power is popularly

famous in this area national park is the pride os this area

and people behind that lord Rama came there and ma Sita

makes their dises in the fort of bandhaw garh. White tiger

is found in this park.

Government College birsinghpur pali The College

is affiliated to APS University, Rewa MP. The mission of

the college is to provide quality education and high moral

standards. The institution offers two under graduate

programmes– Arts,and Science .

The college has a team of well qualified faculty members and supporting office staff

under the noble supervision of the principal Prof. C.L Changutiya With their valuable co-

operation the steering committee prepared the report with requisite information and the

committee feels pleasure in submitting SSR to NAAC Bangalore. The committee is again obliged

to the all members for their valuable co-operation with out which SSR could never have been in

the shape.

Looking forward for Peer Team visit and their valuable suggestions with co-operation to

fulfill the aim, vision and mission of the institute. Therefore efforts have been made by all to get

success in educational map and also to achieve the goal with all required amenities.

Progress of the college

(Summary)

Executive Summary

I. Curricular Aspects:

The institution has a curriculum designed by APS University Rewa in accordance with the

norms set by the Dept. of Higher Education, M.P. The institution takes every easure for

the effective implementation of the curriculum. Co-curricular activities are also conducted.

Workshops, debates, seminars, job oriented projects and industrial visits help to develop

the unrevealed potential and skills of students. Students do take part in the extracurricular

activities in Youth Festival, Annual Function, Sports etc. which aims at the development of

the character and values which help and build them to be responsible citizens of the nation.

The Strength of student of owe college was only 332 in 2011-12. Now the strength is 483

in the year 2015-16

II. Teaching, Learning and Evaluation :

From the year 2012- 13, the process of admission has been online by M.P. Higher

Education and hence gives a transparent and fair method. Definite percentage of seats is

reserved for various categories like SC/ST/OBC students. Due weight age in admission is

given to outstanding achievers in sports and other curricular activities. Our college initiates

innovative methods of teaching, learning and evaluation like group discussion, OHP

charts, learning through Smart Class etc. which make learning a process of con struction of

knowledge. The teachers prepare teaching plan and maintain a work diary. The faculty

members are motivated constantly for taking part in refresher and orientation courses

outside the college. Our library is partly computerized and the laboratories are well

equipped to improve the quality of teaching and learning. Evaluation system isperformed

through CCE, project internship and semester exams. The result of various faculties is very

good.

III. Research Consultancy and Extension :

The institution promotes research culture among faculty members.. Faculty is also actively

engaged in publishing research papers. College renders peerless services to the society

through NSS. NSS carries out various programs and are recognized for their outstanding

achievement. To strengthen the support services with regard to placement of students, the

career cell is striving hard for guiding students through workshops and counseling. Many

exams are conducted by vyapam, Mahrshi Mahesh yogi University Jablapur (M.P.)

IV. Infrastructure and Learning Resources : The infrastructure of the college has been expanded to meet the requirement of curriculum

and student related services. The college has a well maintained campus in college which

include IC Tenabled Smart classroom, One Virtual class and four labs. The library of our

college had inflibinet. Access to the library materials is open to all the users including staff

and students. The network resource center of college provides basic computer training to

students. There is a reading room attached with library where the students and teachers can

sit and read.

V. Student Support and Progression : Our college provides quality education that imparts knowledge skills and values created

for becoming responsible citizens. Students are given necessary support, guidance and

counseling for their overall development and progress. Scholarships are given to students

belonging to SC/ST/OBC and economically weaker section. Books are issued during the

academic session n from Book Bank Yojna. Slow learners are supported well to avoid

dropouts through extra classes. Faculty members provide counseling to students for

preparation for competitive exams. Personality development programme as directed by

higher education is organized from time to time.

VI. Governance Leadership and Management: The efficient governance provided by the head of institution upholds an eminent

environment in college. The leadership leads to college with clear vision and mision of the

college/institution. Out institution has strong urge for excellence and will continue to

pursue it. The statutory bodies like IQAC, finance committee, administration, examination,

purchase, anti-ragging committees work directly under the supervision of the principal and

the coordination helps in creating a positive and wholesome environment which is the core

value of the institution. Our staff members including guest faculties are character wise

sound. These is no case of woman exploitation In our college.

VII. Innovation and Best Practice: Institution has made innovative and flawless efforts helpful in achieving academic

excellence; moral and ethical values such as social justice, eco consciousness, sense of

equality are inculcated in the minds of students through community oriented extension

services carried out by the institution. To promote research, the college encourages faculty

members to take part in research, seminars and conferences. Institute has adapted to best

practice such as Remedial Coaching and NSS. The Remedial Coaching helps in improving

the academic skills of socially backward classes. NSS unit helps in empowerment of youth

through imparting holistic education to make them responsible citizen of the society.

Formative assessment is done in the form of CCE in its

various modes. Summative assessment is done by the

university in the form of semester examination. CCE pattern

has definitely impacted the system positively.

Yes, the college and individual teachers use

specially provided extra knowledge in their subjects and for

competitive examinations. The teachers also take into

consideration performance of students in sports, NSS and

other extra-curricular and cultural activities.

There are many other collaborative efforts initiated by the institution .Staff exchange is usually done for colleges situated in near-by rural areas .There is scheme of redeployment of teachers for two months specially for rural areas by Department of Higher Education. Yes. The institution conduct a green audit of its campus and facilities. Principal Pro. C.L. Changutiya monitors the works related to it. A garden is there in front of the college. Plantation work is done by the gardner. Thees are planted on the occasion of birth days of college staff. Plantation work is also carried by NSS.

Student –teacher ratio is grossly insufficient. Two faculty-members need to be recruited to the department to run it efficiently and to manage the ever-increasing student load. The department focuses on improving the language skills like communication, pronunciation, writing ability of the students particularly of students coming from rural areas.

SWOC Analysis

Strength :-

1. New courses synchronized with present day demand. 2. Emphasis on computers & power point presentation for quality based education. 3. Value based education through personality development programmes. 4. National seminar for promotion of research aptitude among student. 5. Scholarship such as Gown ki beti, Pratibha Kiran, Awas yojna, Minority,

Awagaman etc are available for deserving student. 6. Career guidance, skill development Rojgar mela, Aids awareness rally, Voter

awareness rally etc are organized in college for the students awareness. 7. Sport activities- Judo karate, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, athletics for developing physical

fitness of the students. 8. Special Coaching classes for meritorious student as well as weak students of the

college. 9. There is no case of ragging in our college. 10. For clean & green campus initiatives are taken for plantation and cleanliness. 11. There is no case of woman exploitation.

Weakness :-

1. We cannot introduce new Courses at UG. 2. Strength of students cannot be raised by the college management. 3. Lack of Regular government teaching and office staff.

Opportunities :-

1. Employment opportunities are there for students of counselor, detections in hospital, project officer in Mahila and Bal Vikas, opportunities is also there for students in the field of Banking, P.S.C, etc.

Post-accreditation Initiatives 1. Admission process have been made more transparent and computerized.- Admission to all

academic programmes of the institution are on-line and is quite transparent and it is according to

the directive of the Department of Higher education, Govt. of M.P.

2. Activities of career Counselling Cell- The college provides career counseling and job-orinted

programmes through Swami Vivekanand Career Counselling Cell. Making the career counseling

cell more effective, many programmes were conducted in the last four years. Futher a Number of

Self-employment training programmes were organized by Swami Vivekanand Career Counseling

Cell in the last four years. These are as follows :-

Food processing – 17.12.11 to 26.12.11

Beauticien - 02.02.15 to 23.02.15

Ms word office – 01.10.15 to 30.10.15

Surya namaskar, question forum were also organized on which the participants shown

their keen interest.

Camps held in villages by N.S.S. to teach the students community service including

cleanliness and hygiene, blood donation camp held on behalf of Red Cross, AIDS day observed,

rally in the city to awaken the people about the disease; awareness created about the honour of

women in the society; Sadbhavna diwas (Good Will Day) celebrated to spread fellow feeling in

the community. Eighty per cent students of the college have been benefitted from these

programmes.

4. Infrastructure development- Computers, fax machines, photocopiers, printers introduced in

various departments. Administrative Building built, and, science lab and teaching room, in

college campus. approximately have been allocated for the construction and renovation of

building in the college campus. IT Cell equipped with computers with net and help desk has been

constructed in the college building.

5. Examination reforms- Semester system introduced for all classes with a semester cell.

Continuous Comprehensive Evaluations in its various modes and project work started.

6. Provision of scholarship- About 70% students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, category have been

availing scholarship. Some meritorious students of general category are also being provided

scholarship under different schemes.
