• In 2007, Jakarta join in the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is a group of associations of cities committed to tackling climate change.
• In 2009 at COP15 in Denmark, Jakarta is committed to lowering greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) emissions by 30% in 2030,
• Strategic Plan: Commitment reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 30% in 2030 has been poured in Spatial Planning (RTRW) of DKI Jakarta from 2010 to 2030, followed by preparation of the Regional Action Plan for academic paper in Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
• Regional Action Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Decrease in Jakarta in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 61 In 2011
• In 2012 : Regional Action Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Decrease in Jakarta set out by the Governor Rule
• In 2012 : Governor Regulation no 38 , on the Green Building

SUMMARY : a. This Green Building Regulation is mandatory instrument
launched in April 2013; it is integrated with issuance of building permit and occupancy permit for large comercial buildings. The code was developed in consultation with stakeholders and considered a range of cost-benefit analysis
b. Launched in April 2013, expected impact by 2020, around 300 large buildings to comply with the code
c. The key challenge in meeting this target is effective implementation (to exercise the right mix of design, enforcement and incentives). To this end , Jakarta Government is open for mutual collaboration.
