. Purpose of Qualification : The purpose of the qualification is to:

1. Provide access to a recognisededucator qualification at Level 6 forECD educators who have a Level 4or Level 5 certificate in ECD,providing a bridge between non-formal and formal learningprogrammed.

2. To enable learners to plan andimplement a learning programmewhich is based on their knowledge ofchild development from birth to nineyears and which helps children inthe preschool phase (2-6 age range)work towards achieving the learningoutcomes of the national schoolcurriculum,
