College Students Excel in PGSET Ranks
The final year students of our college have scored top ranks in the P.G Entrance
examinations conducted by various universities. B.Sc. students Ms D.Lakshmi Prasanna got 2nd
rank in Sri Krishnadevaraya University and Mr R.Phaniraj Naik got 41st rank in Acharya
Nagarjuna University in the subject Physics. The students were taken good care of their
preparation for the entrance exams being conducted. Mrs. B.Meenakshi, B.Sc final year student
stood as the University topper in M.P.CA stream. The principal of the college Dr.P.Malyadri
appreciated the students for their excellence. Vice Principal Sri J.Paul Dayakar, Sri T.Kalimulla
Lecturer in Physics, Sri D.Hussanaiah Lecturer in Mathematics, Sri P.Srinivasulu Lecturer in
Computer Applications and other teaching and non-teaching staff congratulated the students.

Student gets selected in Campus Drive
Campus drive was conducted on 06thJune, 2016 at our college. The final year students of
the college participated in the drive. Out of 10 participants, a student of III B.Com Mr. D.
Rajasekhar got selected for Maruthi Suzuki Cars Company as marketing Executive. Head of the
Institution Dr.P.Malyadri, Vice Principal Sri J. Paul Dayakar, JKC Coordinator Sri Ch. Raj
kumarand staff congratulated the student.

International Yoga Day
Celebrating the second International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2016, the students and staff
of the college performed yoga under the aegis of department of Physical Education. Incharge
principal Sri B.Srinivas, Lecturer Sri S. Maheswara Reddy, Office Superintend Sri
A.Subramanyam, Senior Assistant Sri K.Suryanarayana, Junior Assistant Sri T.V. Sriraj, Office
subordinate Sri K. Balaswamy participated in the programme.
Addressing the participants of the event Sri S. Maheswara Reddy, Lecturer in Political
Science remarked that Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice originated in ancient
India. He emphasized the historical importance of yoga and its need for good health.
Physical Director Sri G. Chandrasekhar remarked that Yoga makes the body flexible and
it restores balance by helping to strengthen our body, calm our mind, regain our focus and
improve self- confidence. He said that practicing yoga everyday improves the concentration and
memory power.
Later the students performed various Asanas like Surya Namaskaras, Trikonasana,
Parsvakonasana and Praanayama. The programme ended with national anthem.

World Population Day
The World population Day was celebrated by the department of Political Science on 10th
July, 2016. In charge Principal Sri J. Paul Dayakar presided over the meeting. He explained the
growth of population from ancient times and its impact. He guided the students to get married
after getting a good job so that there will be a scope for population control and health care.
Lecturer in History Sri B.Srinivas remarked that the awareness can be augmented through
this kind of meetings. He briefed the numerical data regarding the population of India and its
merits as well as demerits.
JKC Mentor Miss MB.Santhi Priya, lecturers Miss Murthuja Bee and Miss Shahida
Begum spoke on the occasion. They enlightened the students on gender equality and insisted to
work hard to complete the graduation successfully.
Few students shared their views on the occasion and won applauds. Senior Assistant Sri
K.SuryaNarayana suggested the students to get benefitted by utilizing various schemes like JKC
available in the college.

NSS Awareness Programme
Under the presidency of principal of the college Dr.P.Malyadri, an awareness programme
was conducted by NSS Program Officer Sri G.Chandrasekhar on 13th July 2016. About a
hundred students were enrolled into NSS Programme as volunteers.
The Vice Principal of the college Sri J. Paul Dayakar, History lecturer Sri B.Srinivas and
old students of the college attended the programme.
The president of NSS Unit Dr.P.Malyadri advised the students to cast away selfishness
and be service oriented towards the society. He motivated the students saying Social service is a
very good quality with some people. But each and everybody should culture this habit and a
social servant is welcomed everywhere because he is the most useful member of the society.
Dr. P. Malyadri admired the old students of the college who has completed their Post
Graduation for teaching various subjects in the college. He suggested the students to offer their
services in the charitable activities organized by the NSS Unit of the college.

Swachha Bharath
Swachha Bharath was organized in our college on 14th July 2016. Head of the institution
Dr.P.Malyadri addressed NSS Volunteers before the commencement of the programme. He
suggested the students to clean the campus as if they were cleaning their own home because a
student spends his/her most of the time in a day in the college. Keeping the surroundings clean
will result in a pleasant environment and improves their concentration.
The Programme Officer G.Chandrasekhar divided the students into 10 teams and made
them to clean the area allotted to them. Students cleared the thorny bushes and weeds in the
campus.
The Vice Principal of the college Sri J. Paul Dayakar, Sri B.Srinivas, Lecturer in History,
Sri Ch. Rajkumar, Lecturer in Commerce and other lecturers monitored the students.
The Head of the Institution Dr.P.Malyadri began the programme with plantations of
Mango and Indian beech. NSS Programme Officer Sri G. Chandrasekhar coordinated the
programme. The students actively participated in the Swachha Bharath programme.

Guest Lecture by the Department of History
On 19th July 2016 a guest lecture was organized by the department of History. Lecturer
in History Sri M.Naganna from Government College for Men presented a lecture on the
importance of “Importance of Andhra desa “.
Sri M. Naganna explained the estimate of the Satavahanas and the contribution towards
culture. He also described the way, the name of the Satavahanas originated and now they
achieved great significance in the history of India.
He also highlighted the cultural awakening of the rules and the subjects during
satavahana period and enlightened the students very much. The students interestingly followed
the lecture and expressed their doubts. Sri M. Naganna cleared the doubts of the students.
Sri J.PaulDayakar, Incharge Principal presided over the programme. Sri B.Srinivas,
Lecturer in History organized the lecture.
Sri Ch. Rajkumar, Lecturer in Commerce, Miss Murthujabi, lecturer in economics and
students participated in the programme.

Career Oriented Programme
The JKC (Jawahar Knowledge Center) of the college organized a programme on job
opportunities on 20th July, 2016. Sri M. Naganna, coordinator of Entry into Services,
Government Men‟s College, and Kurnool was invited as the Chief Guest. He lectured on job
opportunities available and their preparation. In charge Principal Sri J. Paul Dayakar presided
over the programme.
Chief Guest Sri M. Naganna enlightened the students about JKCs which equip the
students with the necessary skills to face challenges in their pursuit for employment. He advised
all the students to join JKC and derive the benefits for a better career and a bright future. He
suggested the students to read a newspaper daily so that they can keep in touch with the current
world affairs. The success stories of IAS toppers who reached their goal with a strong
determination and hard work were narrated to motivate the students. He acknowledged that it is
not only the intelligence that makes a bright career but also the commitment, zeal and hard work.
The various career opportunities available after degree were explained in detail to the students.
JKC Coordinator Sri Ch. Rajkumar, history Lecturer Sri B.Srinivas addressed the
students. JKCF TM Kum MB.Santhi Priya delivered Vote of thanks. The students
enthusiastically participated in the programme and cleared their doubts regarding career
planning.

National Junk Food Day
The National Junk Food Day was celebrated by JKC Students on 21st July 2016.
Speaking on the occasion, incharge Principal of the college Sri J. Paul Dayakar expressed that
importance of food in Indian culture is immense. Food is equated with Brahma for it is stated
that all beings take birth from food, after being born they subsist on it. In the same work it is
stated that one should not deprecate food for it is the vital force and the body is fixed on the vital
force. Now a day due to the impact of foreign culture, there is a drastic change in food habits
which lead to many health problems. The consumption of food with high content of salt, sugar,
fat and preservatives leads to obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. He suggested everyone
to eat food with good protein values and fiber content which is good for health.
JKC Coordinator Sri Ch. Rajkumar briefed the difference between saturated fats and
unsaturated fats, also fat helps in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Lecturer
in History
Sri B.Srinivas suggested in adding millets into the diet. Commerce lecturer Sri S.Sharma,
Economics lecturer Kum Murthuja Bee and few students spoke on the occasion. They focused on
the traditional food habits of our Indians which has many health benefits. They suggested in
avoiding road side junk food deeply fried in oils.
JKC student E. Rama Devi hosted the programme and other students exhibited a poster
on healthy and unhealthy foods. JKC FTM Kum MB.Santhi Priya delivered vote of thanks. All
the students participated actively in the awareness programme.

Orientation Programme
On 22nd
July 2016, an Orientation programme was organized to the newly joined I year
students by the IQAC of the college. Principal Dr. P.Malyadri presided over the meeting. He
explained the rules and regulations of the college. He advised the students to utilize the time
properly and work hard as they are going to enter into the semester system each semester with
duration of only six months. He insisted the students to attend the classes regularly in time. Dr.
P. Malyadri being the head of the institution briefed various developmental activities that are
being organized in the college.
Vice Principal Sri J. Paul Dayakar addressed the students to maintain discipline and
utilize the facilities like library, labs, etc available in the college. Physical Director and NSS
Coordinator Sri G. Chandra Sekhar briefed the National Service Scheme and its activities. He
explained the importance of Sports and Games as well as gym facility available for the students.
JKC Coordinator, Lecturer in Commerce Sri Ch. Rajkumar emphasized the Jawahar
Knowledge Center and its role in training the students in employability skills. Being the
coordinator of Red Ribbon Club, he briefed the activities of RRC.
JKC FTM Kum MB.Santhi Priya briefed the dual degree programme offered by Tata
Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) through JKCs as a part of Skill development.
Sri B.Srinivas, Lecturer in History, Computer Lecturer Sri P. Srinivasulu, Commerce
lecturer Sri S.Sharma and Economics lecturer Kum Murtuja bee addressed the students about
their departments. IQAC coordinator Sri J. Paul Dayakar supervised the programme.

National Parent’s Day
National Parent‟s Day is celebrated by the department of Physical Education and
National Service Scheme on 23rd
July 2016 honoring the love and dedication of parents.
Principal of the college Dr.P.Malyadri suggested that everyone should respect their
parents and take the suggestions of their parents to become successful in every aspect of life. He
quoted that parents play important role in the development of a child by directing them to
become a mature and responsible citizen. Parents are a teacher, well-wisher, mentor, role-model
and protector to their children. He quoted the examples of failure stories of people from history
that disrespected and treated their parents in contemptuous manner.
Vice Principal Sri J. Paul Dayakar praised the unconditional love and the hard work they
employed to bring up their children. He advised the students to take care of their parents in their
old age.
Commerce lecturer Sri S. Sharma, Sri B.Srinivas, Lecturer in History, Economics
Lecturer Kum Murtuja Bee and Computer Lecturer Sri P. Srinivasulu spoke on the occasion.
They enlightened the students on importance of parents and their sacrifices.
I BCom student Ulemu, II BSc student Venkata Lakshmi illustrated the sacrifices of
parents. The students curiously participated in the programme.

Kargil Vijay Diwas
The department of Political Science celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2016 in
honour of the Kargil War's Heroes on 26th July in the year 1989. Incharge Principal Sri J. Paul
Dayakar presided over the meeting commemorating the contribution of the Armed forces. He
admired the soldiers and Indian Air force pilots, the uninformed heroes who gave their today for
our tomorrow.
Lecturer in Political Science Sri S. Maheswara Reddy orated that Kargil Vijay Diwas named
after the success of Operation Vijay. On this day, 26 July 1999, India successfully took
command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders. The Kargil war was
fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26th
July and resulted in the loss of life on both sides,
India and Pakistan and with the India regain possessions of Kargil.
Commerce Lecturer Sri S.Sharma and JKC FTM Kum MB.Santhi Priya enlightened the
students to get inspiration from the brave stories of soldiers who fought against the Pakistan
army and made history.
Students Afreen, Ravi, Chand Basha, Veerender, Sarat Kumar, Ulemu and others gave
speeches. Students actively participated in the programme.

Extension of last date for admission into I Year
Principal of the college Dr. P. Malyadri announced that the last date for admission into
degree I year has been extended up to31st July 2016. He briefed various career opportunities
available in the college.
Focusing on the dual degree program offered by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS)
Dr P. Malyadri said that trained students will be placed in major MNCs at the end of final year.
Also Jawahar Knowledge Center of the college provides training in employability skills and
organizes campus drives.
Scholarship facility is also available for the eligible BC, SC, ST students as per the
government rules. There is hostel facility for the non-local students and the students coming
from surrounding villages can avail the bus pass facility.
As per the needs of today‟s competitive world, a certificate course in English
Communication Skills is going to be launched by Rayalaseema University. The IQAC of the
college organizes various programmes for staff as well as students. As a part of it, six certificate
courses are going to be started in the month of September. Every year gold medals are presented
to the meritorious students.
Dr.P.Malyadri remarked that the college is going for NAAC Accreditation. On obtaining
good grade the college will be sanctioned an amount of Rs. 2 crores by RUSA which can be used
for infrastructure development in the college.

International Tiger’s Day
The Department of Commerce conducted an awareness programme celebrating
International Tiger‟s Day on 29th July 2016. Principal Dr.P.Malyadri remarked that
Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve is the largest tiger reserve in India. As we are living in
here it is our responsibility to save the charismatic species. The tiger is a unique animal which
plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem. It is a top predator which is at the
apex of the food chain and keeps the population of wild ungulates in check, thereby maintaining
the balance between prey herbivores and the vegetation upon which they feed. Therefore, the
presence of tigers in the forest is an indicator of the well being of the ecosystem. The extinction
of this top predator is an indication that its ecosystem is not sufficiently protected, and neither
would it exist for long thereafter.
Head of the department Sri Ch. Rajkumar affirmed that if the tigers go extinct, the entire
system would collapse. Therefore students should take the responsibility of bringing awareness
among people who hunt wild animals.
Sri J. Paul Dayakar, Sri B.Srinivas, Lecturer in History and Physical Director Sri G.
Chandrasekhar spoke on the occasion.
Students Chand Basha, Sarath Kumar, Seshma, Reshma, Sabeeragave a speech on the
conservation of tigers, the numerical data of tigers living in the forest, the reasons for their
extinction etc. All the students participated actively in the college.

Vanam – Manam
The Vanam-Manam programme was organized in the college campus as per the
instructions of State Government. The programme was conducted by NSS Coordinator Sri G.
Chandrasekhar under the presidency of Principal Dr.P.Malyadri.
Speaking on the occasion Dr.P.Malyadri instructed everyone to plant a tree and take good
care of it so that there will be a pollution free environment. Specially, the first year students were
encouraged for this as they can nurture the plant for 3 years until they complete their degree.
Coordinator Sri G. Chandra Sekhar orated that greeneries in the campus not only make
the air fresh but also helpful the mental exhilaration. He guided the first year students to nurture
a plant and protect it.

Lecturer in History Sri B.Srinivas, Economics lecturer Kum Murtuja Bee and students
participated in the programme.

Interactive Session with DIG Sri B.V.Ramana Kumar, I.P.S
On 3rd
August 2016, an interactive session for students with Kurnool range DIG Sri
B.V.Ramana Kumar I.P.S was organized by IQAC of the college under the presidency of
Dr.P.Malyadri. Before opening the session Head of the Institution Dr.P.Malyadri briefed the
achievements of the students of previous year and he affirmed the improvement in the student
strength this year. He quoted the example of University topper B.Meenakshi of our college. He
announced the certificate courses launched in the college by IQAC.
CPDC Secretary Sri Emmadisetty Koteswara Rao assured the financial help for poor
students. The chief guest of the programme Sri B.V.Ramana Kumar interacted with the first year
students and motivated them to set a goal and work hard to achieve it. He quoted the success
stories of famous people like Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao with poor family
background who made their dreams come true with strong determination and hard work.
Sri B.V.Ramana Kumar enlightened the students that everyone born with a purpose to
achieve something and serve the society. For achieving something big one should possess a good
character, time management, dedication, good health and other factors that play a vital role in
reaching their goal. Practicing yoga, meditation and daily exercise help in improving mantel and
physical health. He insisted the use of technology in the right way would result in knowledge
gain.
The students participated actively in the interactive session. The cultural activities were
organized celebrating the fresher‟s day and few students spoke on the occasion.

Outstanding Performance of our Students
Principal Dr. P. Malyadri told that Sk. Chand Basha, III B.A exhibited his efficiency in
the national seminar on “Krishna Parivahaka Prantha Charithra” conducted by A.P. Government
Archeology Museums, Srisailam Vibhoodhi Lingeswara Trust and Srisaila Satra Sanghamula
Samkshema Samakhya at Sivaji Spoorthi Kendram, Srisailam on 6th
august 2016.
Final year student of B.A SK. Chand Basha presented a research paper on Srisaila kshetra
Nadi Pareevahaka Pranthamuloni Vanamulikalu”. In his presentation Chand Basha described the
places in which river Krishna flows and the medicinal plants available there. He displayed “Naga
Mustikarra, Krishnamusti seeds, white eswari root( Indian Birthwort ), Karakkayalu, SudiKarra,
Saraswathi powder, Aswagrandhi powder, Sugandha root, Ragabandham Sithajada, Bennathei
leaf, Bajanika, Viswa Kranthi, Kasthuri fruits, Chintha oil, White Jilledu and explained their
importance and advantages. His presentation attracted the audience very much as he displayed all
the items.
Chand Basha was appreciated by the audience. He told that History Lecturers Sri J. Paul
Dayakar and Sri B.Srinivas encouraged and helped him to achieve this.

Quit India Movement
Quit India Day was celebrated in a grand scale on Tuesday in our college on 09th August
2016. Department of History conducted this programme under the chairmanship of our principal
Dr.P.Malyadri.
Dr. P. Malyadri explained about the freedom fighters of India and especially about
Gandhi‟s movements. Principal wished everybody to save the country, taking Quit India
Movement as inspiration which above away Britishers flow our country. III B.A student Chand
Basha and I B.A Veerendra talked on the occasion and explained about the freedom fighters and
different stages in freedom movement.
Lecturers Sri J. Paul Dayakar, Sri B.Srinivas, Sri Ch. Rajkumar, Sri S. Subramanya
Sarma, Sri Shahida Begum, Sri G. Chandra Sekhar, Sri S. Maheswar Reddy, Sri P. Srinivasulu,
Kum MB. Santhi Priya and students participated in the programme. Afterwards quiz and essay
writing competitions were conducted on freedom movement.

Tamilnadu Governor Rosaiah’s assurance for college development
During the visit of Tamilnadu Governor Sri K. Rosaiah to Srisailam on 10th August 2016,
the Head of the Institution Dr.P.Malyadri submitted a request letter with the cooperation of
CPDC Secretary Sri Emmadisetty Koteswara Rao.
Dr.P.Malyadri expressed that Governor Sri K. Rosaiah curiously enquired the
developmental activities of the college and assured to recommend MRF Company Tamilnadu in
sanctioning 2 crores for college building construction through Corporate Responsibility Scheme.
Principal Dr.P.Malyadri expressed his gratitude to Governor Sri K. Rosaiah in this regard.

Commencement of JKC Batch-II
Principal and Chairman of Jawahar Knowledge Center of the college announced that JKC
Batch-II training is going to be started in the college. The candidates will be taught arithmetic,
reasoning, computer skills, communication and soft skills during the training along with general
awareness required for competitive exams. The material is also provided with a registration fee
of Rs 50/- for SC/ST candidates and Rs. 550/- for others. The degree/PG completed or pursuing
candidates are eligible for the training. The last date for registrations is 15th August2016. After
completing 3 months course, the students can participate in the campus drives conducted through
JKCs. The interested candidates can contact JKC Coordinator Sri Ch. Rajkumar for further
details.

Parent-Teacher’s Meeting
The Parent-Teacher‟s Meeting was held on 12th August 2016. Head of the Institution Dr.
P. Malyadri explained the developmental activities and initiatives taken for providing good
infrastructure, environment and opportunities for the student‟s all round development. He
communicated with the parents and welcomed their advices for improving educational activities
in the college. NSS Coordinator Sri G. Chandra Sekhar sought the acceptance of the parent of
NSS volunteers participating in Krishna Pushkaralu 2016. Parents actively attended the meeting
and enquired their children‟s progress.

NSS Volunteers services in Krishna Pushkaralu 2016
Principal of the college Dr.P.Malyadri informed that services of NSS Volunteers started
from the first day of Krishna Pushkaralu 2016 on 12th August 2016. Krishna Pushkaralu is a
festival of River Krishna which normally occurs once in every 12 years and is celebrated with
much glory. The Pushkaram is observed for a period of 12 day Volunteers have been pushed into
service to help, guide ensure smooth flow of traffic. As the Srisaila Bhramarambha Mallikarjuna
Swami temple is situated near the Krishna River high number of pilgrims is expected for various
Pushkar ghats to take the holy dip.
Coordinator Sri G.Chandrasekhar specified that about 86 NSS Volunteers are offering
their services like medical help, supplying food and drinking water. The students were admired
by the pilgrims and officials as well. Few volunteers offered their services in the Srisailam
temple. The students won applaud for helping the elderly and physically disabled people.
The students continued their services till the last day of Krishna Pushkaralu 2016. The
services of volunteers were extolled during the felicitation arranged at the end of Krishna
Pushkaralu on 24th August 2016.
The certificates were presented to the volunteers by MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy.
Head of the institution Dr. P.Malyadri, NSS Coordinator Sri G.Chandra Sekhar and staff
appreciated the volunteers.

Independence Day Celebrations
Principal Dr. P. Malyadri exhorted the students to follow the ideals of the great people on
hoisting the flag at our college celebrating 70th Independence Day on 15th august 2016. He

Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam‟ is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the college to mark
the birth anniversary of renowned telugu linguist Sri Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy Pantulugaru
who had promoted the use of spoken Telugu.
Speaking on this occasion the Principal of the college Dr.P.Malyadri emphasized the
importance of loving our mother tongue and embracing it. He remarked that Gidugu Venkata
Ramamurthy gave a social base to Telugu literature and rendered services to the tribals,
especially the Savaras, in Parlakimidi area of Srikakulam agency area and tirelessly worked for
the development of tribal languages. He gave Savara language a script and prepared lexicons.

country hockey king Dhyan Chand, the National Sports Day was celebrated on August 29, 2016.

mind, body and spirit. Furthermore, team sports are good for learning accountability, dedication,

achieve something in a sport or with a fitness goal, then you know you can achieve any other

Celebrating National Positive Thinking Day on 13th September 2016, a programme was

The cleanliness drive to make the surrounding cleaner, healthier and appealing was
organized in college campus by NSS Coordinator Sri B.Srinivas.
The Head of the Institution Dr. P.Malyadri addressed the students as “Change Agents”
who could motivate their parents, family and others in the neighborhood ultimately promoting
community participation to adopt good sanitation and hygiene practices which would ultimately
lead to the „‟Swachh Bharat”. He affirmed that keeping the surroundings clean is very mandatory
for all of us to get a healthy body and mind and ultimate success in the life. Cleanliness brings
good and positive thoughts in the mind which slows down the occurrence of diseases.
The students cleaned the weeds in the campus thereby contributing to the government‟s

The National Flowers Day was celebrated by the Eco Club convener Sri T.Kalimulla,
Lecturer in Physical Sciences on 16th September 2016. The students showcased wide variety of
flowers. The students explained the medicinal uses of flowers they have collected. Dr. P.
Malyadri expressed that watching beautiful flowers and inhaling their fragrance will reduce
stress levels. He briefed the uses of flowers in curing many diseases.
The staff and students visited the flower show enthusiastically and expressed their
happiness in watching different kinds of flowers in one place. Lecturers spoke about their
favorite flower and described its uses. Dr. P. Malyadri presented prizes for best flower display.

International Peace Day was celebrated in our college by the department of commerce.

Organization was established to make this world peaceful and terror free and to provide
awareness about the peace, UN decided to celebrate International Peace Day in 1982. Since then
International Day of Peace is celebrated every year on 21st of September since 1982 with the
purpose of creating sense and awareness in the people about the importance of peace.
Vice Principal Sri J. Paul Dayakar gave a message to the students to respect each other
because an environment of peace can only be created if people respect each other. When people
start to respect other‟s feeling and other‟s religions, peace is developed in the region.

The Executive Officer of Srisaila Devasthanam Dr. N. Bharath Guptha visited the college

NSS DAY
NSS of our college celebrated NSS Day as per the instructions of State Government on
24th September 2016. College Principal and NSS Chairman Dr. P. Malyadri presided over the
function and advised everybody to maintain individual cleanliness so that it may lead to good
health of the family and society.
According to the Dr. P. Malyadri one has to wash hands after completing every work to
keep the diseases away. And we should keep our surroundings clean. Sri Ch. Rajkumar, Lecturer
in Commerce spoke on the occasion and advised everyone to prevent the mosquitoes, especially
those cause dengue, which leads to the depreciation of platelets.
Sri S. Maheswara Reddy, Lecturer in Political Science expressed that there is a necessity
to bring awareness in the village about health and to advise the people to eradicate mosquitoes by
removing old goods and the things in which water is stocked. It is also advised to bring
awareness in neighbors in this regard.
Afterwards the students participated in the rally by giving slogans to drive away
mosquitoes and protect rain water by constructing magic soak pits. The students cleaned weeds
in the college campus. NSS Programme Officer Sri B.Srinivas convened the programme.

Dr. P. Malyadri visited the free coaching classes organized by Government Degree
College, Srisailam Project in collaboration with Manavatha on 24thSeptemner 2016. He
suggested the students to prepare a timetable and follow it strictly as per schedule without fail.
Dr.P.Malyadri affirmed that dedication and commitment to the preparation would bring them
success. He remarked that the candidates need not worry about the competition keeping the
number of applicants in view instead they should think in a positive way which is the secret of
success.
Dr.P.Malyadri advised them to have group discussion with their fellow candidates so that
they can share the knowledge as well as gain. Practicing model papers would help them in
managing the time in the final exam. He insisted the candidates to follow a newspaper daily to
keep updated with the current affairs.

World Environmental Health Day
World Environmental health Day was celebrated by the IQAC of the college on 26th
September 2016. Sri J. Paul Dayakar, in-charge Principal of the college presided over the

A Job Drive was conducted by the Jawahar Knowledge Center on 29th September 2016 at
our college. Subhagruha Projects Private Limited Company selected candidates for the post of
Marketing Executives. On 26th
September 2016, newspaper advertisement was given instructing
the candidates about the eligibility criteria and documents required for participating in the drive.
Principal of the college & Chairman of JKC Dr.P.Malyadri presided over the meeting
organized for the registered candidates of the drive. He remarked that the students should
inculcate the competitive spirit in order to succeed in today‟s competitive world. He addressed
that this kind of job drives would help to fight the problem of unemployment.
JKC Coordinator Sri Ch. Rajkumar said that nearly 60 members attended the interview
process and 18 members got selected in the drive. He remarked that more job drives will be

War on Mosquitoes Rally
As per the orders Commissioner of Higher Education a rally was organized with the
students of Government Degree College, Srisailam Project on 01st October 2016.
Principal of the college, Dr. P. Malyadri remarked that with the increase in cases of
Chickengunya and Dengue in the state of Andhra Pradesh, a war on mosquitoes with an aim to
make Andhra Pradesh a happy and healthy state by eradicating mosquitoes was called. As people
throw wastes on the road and the municipality then dumps it in the drains and ultimately it leads
to mosquito breeding which often leads to spread of seasonal diseases and viral fevers. Hence
there is a need to bring awareness among the public about cleanliness.
The students displayed various slogans to bring awareness on diseases spread by the
mosquitoes like dengue, malaria, etc. At the rally, students urged the people to keep their
surroundings clean and live healthy. NSS Coordinator Sri B.Srinivas supervised the programme.

Donations to the Thalassemia Victims
The students of the degree college collected funds for the victims of Thalassemia. One of
the residents of Srisailam Project village Sri K. Anand‟s daughters Deepthi and Anusha were
suffering from Thalassemia. The institution and students decided to play their role for pooling
funds for the treatment of Deepthi and Anusha. Lecturers and students collected an amount of
6500/- (Rupees six thousand five hundred rupees). Principal Dr. P. Malyadri said that the same
amount was donated to Sri K. Anand‟s family members on 4th October 2016. Sri K. Anand and
his family members expressed their gratitude to the students and staff of the college.

responsibility of each and every individual to save the forest and the animals specially the

Sri Ramakrishna Sarma, Manager of Canara Bank, Srisailam opined that every student
should know about banking. Commerce department of our college conducted an awareness

Department of Physics celebrated national Energy Day on 22nd
October 2016. Sri T.
Kalimulla spoke on the occasion that energy neither created nor destroyed. But it can be changed
from one form to another form which is the “Energy Conservation Law‟‟. For example light

Lecturer in Physics, Sri T. Kalimulla also explained about global energies like oil, coal,
light, nuclear, etc. Sri J. Paul Dayakar, Vice Principal told that International Energy Day is being
celebrated from 22nd October 2012 and is declared by World Energy Forum. Students also
explained about kinetic energy and potential energy and also different forms of energy like
electrical, thermal, nuclear, etc.

Lecture on publishing a Research Paper
Our college principal Dr. P. Malyadri presented a lecture on “How to write and publish a
Research paper” on 26th October 2016. Dr. P. Malyadri has vast experience in the field of
research. He has been acting as a member in editorial board in 300 international journals being
published by 35 different countries, and reviewed 3000 international publications. Dr.P.Malyadri
published 90 articles in national and international journals.
Dr.P.Malyadri expressed that research oriented thinking can develop and expand the
knowledge. He described different kinds of journals and advised that the topic of research should
be a new one and match the contemporary ideas. The research may be done by survey or through
online observation of reference books and the research should be innovative and unique. The title
should be attractive and catchy, the keywords should be effective and the abstract be done in
advance.
Dr.P.Malyadri also explained the advantages for publishing articles i.e., extension of job
period, getting good academic performance indicating marks and the honor in the society. The
unemployed who published research papers may get employment.

The 7- Day NSS Special Camp was organized by the NSS of the college from 25th
October 2016 to 01st November 2016. Srisaila Devasthanam Executive Officer Dr. N. Bharath
Guptha was invited as chief guest of the Inaugural function.
Addressing the NSS Volunteers, Dr. N. Bharath Guptha remarked that every student
should take the responsibility to serve the society. As Srisailam is a historical place, everyone
should feel responsible for conserving the natural beauty of the place by keeping it clean by
avoiding the use of plastic and using dust bins. He insisted the students to bring awareness in the
public about these issues .He welcomed the suggestions of students through face book on
prohibiting meat and alcohol.

service from their home first to protect the historical heritage of Srisailam. He asked the students
to enlighten at least 10 members to take up social service.

An Orientation programme was organized in the college on 27th October 2016 on Parellel
Degree Programme offered by TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) through JKC (Jawahar
Knowledge Center) of the college. Principal Dr. P. Malyadri presided over the meeting organized
by JKC.
Addressing the students Dr.P.Malyadri expressed that the college is one among the 100
colleges proposed for TISS programme by the Government of AP. The chief guest of the
programme Dr. G. Ravisankar Reddy, Zonal Programme Officer from TISS briefed on parallel

NSS Special Camp Activities
The 7- Day NSS Special Camp started on 25th
October 2016 and the seven day
programme continued up to 01st November 2016. Principal Dr. P. Malyadri motivated the
students saying with social service we directly help the society, but indirectly we help ourselves
also because the well-being of the society means the well-being of its individual members.
The NSS Programme Officer reported that on the first day, the volunteers cleared the
weeds in Panchamata area and on second day the students cleared the stones and weeds in the
path from Ghanta Matam to Veerabhadra Matam. On the third day, volunteers cleared the weeds
and at the entrance gate in the college campus under the supervision of Principal Dr. P. Malyadri.
The students set up tree guards for the plantations in the college campus.
On the fourth day, the volunteers made arrangements for celebrating National Ayurveda
Day. They cleaned the Veerabhadra Matam walls. The volunteers cleaned the School campus in
Mekala banda and educated the public to keep their surroundings clean. On the fifth day the
students conducted awareness programmeon regulating of use of plastic among the public. The
volunteers cleaned the plastic waste spread over two kilometers. The students whitewashed the
Veerabhadra matam and cleared the surrounding areas of Pancha Matas.
