Got Fruit?
Autumn Run Stables’ Kids & Families Equine
Assisted Coaching And Counseling Programs Are Here For You!Are you seeing fruit in your counseling work with trauma and disordered attachment kids & families? Are your families still in crisis? Are they stuck in the wilderness wandering around the same old territory hoping to find a new solution to restore peace in their homes, schools, and family relationships? We can help.
Our programs are designed to come alongside mental health providers and their clients struggling with disordered attachment and trauma backgrounds
Why Horses? Autumn Run Stables’ kids & families horse-‐style coaching & counseling programs open up a whole new field of solutions for kids & families in “tough spots”. They will help you produce fruit you didn’t even know was possible! Horses stand in the gap for these kids & families. They become their voice and their visual canvas expressing their past hurts, unhealthy habits, unmet needs, fears, and best of all, they help show us who our kids can become on the other side of this challenge. Our horse farm is a workshop providing a space for hope and programs for healing. Less Talk, More Action It’s time for a different approach-‐-‐ a new team of treatment partners ready to meet these kids & families right at their need and walk with them as they move from cycles of disruption to amazing places of peace and harmony in the arena of life. Research shows that kids working through attachment issues, past trauma, and sensory processing development delays most often do not have the language needed to do talk therapy. Talking and verbally expressing feelings is tough territory for these kids. They lack the language and the needed skills to activate the attachment they so desperately need.
Engage, Play, Activate! Kids learn best when actively engaged and physically involved. This is why Equine Assisted Coaching and Counseling is a great modality for this core population. We set up experiential learning exercises that dive into the heart of the issues we know exist for disordered attachment and trauma backgrounds. Working with horses challenges us to connect, trust, and “train-‐up” attachment to solve problems and move beyond those things holding us back. As we work along side our horses, they nudge us beyond what we see and challenge us to move out in freedom to become all we can be. Location: EAC sessions will be held at Autumn Run Stables, in West Glenville, NY. Ask for more information when you call 518-229-7701 Note: EACC does not involve riding horses. No riding experience is required, just a willingness to participate and heal
A little About Autumn Run Stables’ EACC We exist to teach
people how to transform unhealthy patterns, leave behind destructive emotions, find freedom from life controlling issues, form healthy relationships, thrive in their
environment, express themselves in positive ways, and re-engage with their families, friends, schools, and develop new skills to help them be the difference they
want to see in the world. Our farm is a workshop where we discover the “what” beneath surface behaviors and get to practice the “how“ skills to move beyond and become all God has designed us to be.
Horses Carry Hearts to Jesus - Catch the Vision! The one thing that
changes everything in counseling the brokenhearted is Jesus. He is the true healer. He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those
who are bound. Isaiah 61:1 As a Christ-Centered Counseling program we probe and address why people do the things they do. Jesus’ ministry exposed and challenged what people lived for, offering Himself as the only worthy ruler of the heart. Our trail guide is His Word - The Bible the source of truth and life-giving direction.
My horses and I have a lot in common - we were all once broken and now made beautiful in His love. I’m on a God-given trail ride to make a difference in the lives of kids & families in “tough spots”.
Nanette Foster-‐Rothermel has been a horse lover since age 7 and a therapeutic foster care parent (aka G-‐Mom) for over 10 years. She is now the Lead Family Coach and Founder of Go <>< Horse Coaching for kids & families in “tough spots”; Equine Specialist and founder of A Horse Adventure Equine Assisted Counseling programs for family trauma-‐attachment counseling; Lead instructor/Founder of Autumn Run Stables Training To Love Horse-‐gal-‐ship, and author of the blog homekeepinghorsefarmstyle. While she’s involved in multiple programs, all are following one clear vision to transform hearts … Vision: Working with horses we apply Biblical truths to find freedom from life-‐controlling issues, so that we can live the life Jesus died for us to live. On a great God-‐given adventure to live-‐out her life verse “Stir-‐up others to love and good works” Heb 10:24 Nanette has a unique way to engage with people at the heart igniting a true passion as she shares what God shows her about horse-‐human relationships in ways that bring restoration and health to kids & families in “tough spots”. She shares openly with her clients both her “Jonah” and “Mary” moments along her own narrow trail to healing and abundant life. As a student of God’s Word and a committed follower of Jesus, she calls others to follow Him so they, too, can live out a life marked by His unending love and amazing grace. Her approach is real, sometimes raw and in-‐your-‐face, but always sprinkled with humor and joy beyond circumstances, as she shares stories of hope and restoration along her wonderfully designed breadcrumb trail with sack of potatoes intersections to stir-‐up others to love and good works!
