Gospel Luke 17:11-19
On the way to Jerusalem Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered one of the villages, ten lepers came to meet him. They stood some way off and called to him, ‘Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.’ When he saw them he said, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ Now as they were going away they were cleansed. Finding himself cured, one of them turned back praising God at the top of his voice and threw himself at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan. This made Jesus say, ‘Were not all ten made clean? The other nine, where are they? It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.’ And he said to the man, ‘Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.’ ANNIVERSARIES St Theresa: Paul Mooney, Den Grant, Tony Grocock, Hugh Campbell, Gayle Wiliams, Ellen Fairbrother, Ann Emms, Carol Yates, Stewart Gore, Eddie Kachelsk, Sid Richardo, Edwin Brennan, David Moss, Charlie Lawley, Thomas & Mary McIlwraith, Delia Lavelle, Jay William, Michael Spencer.

Can we all make a big effort to be silent in Church before the start of Mass so as to establish an atmosphere of prayer prior to our celebration of the Eucharist. Thank you .
EU SETTLEMENT SCHEME: The United Kingdom is due to leave the European Union
on 31st October 2019, with or without an agreement governing this departure and the ongoing future relationship between the UK & the EU. The Catholic Church in England and Wales stands in solidarity with all EU citizens who have made their home here, many of whom are an integral and valued part of our parishes, schools and communities, including here in the Diocese of Nottingham. The Church has experienced first-hand the extensive contribution that people from across Europe have made to our society and recognises the evidence that immigration from the rest of Europe, and from further afield, has not undermined opportunities for British citizens, but rather has brought considerable economic and social benefits. However, the law concerning the free movement of people will be changing as a result of decisions taken since the referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU, and EU, EEA & Swiss citizens must apply to the settlement scheme if they are to protect their existing rights and place in our society. British citizens & Irish citizens do not need to apply. There is no fee for applying to this scheme - it is free of charge. Please visit gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families for more information.

FOOD BANK The Bishop's letter last Sunday drew attention to the plight of homeless
people in Britain and urged parishes to discuss ways of becoming involved in those agencies which try to help them. One way in which we are already helping is through the local Food Banks both in Birstall and Rothley. Our contributions help to put food on the table for those who struggle to make ends meet and are only a step away from failing to meet all their financial commitments. Please continue to give generously and donate tins, packets etc. anything except perishable foods either at St Theresa's or Sacred Heart. Janet Kennedy delivers all the contributions to the Food Bank from Sacred Heart to the Baptist Church, Rothley on a Monday morning. The Food Bank is run from St. Theresa’s and a member of the team who distributes the parcels collects them from Rothley on Mondays for distribution on Tuesdays. . HEART LINK.
