Bring the Kids to Wind Challenge on March 11

One of the GTA's signature STEM events, the Wind Challenge isblowing back to the Gorge on March 11, 2017 at the Fort DallesReadiness Center in The Dalles. Held in partnership with Googleand Columbia Gorge Community College, this one-daycompetition has middle and high school students build the bestwind turbine. Just this week, GTA Member SIGMADESIGN announced theinstallation of a new HP Jet Fusion 4200 3D printer at theirheadquarters in Vancouver, WA. SIGMADESIGN is one of thefirst HP customers in North America to receive the HP Jet Fusion4200 model and will play an important role in demonstrating thecapabilities of the new printer. Feb 28: Insitu Provides Webinar for STEM Educators

Oregon Dept. of Education (ODE) has been providing a series ofwebinars for STEM educators interested in incorporatingUnmanned Aerial Systems into their curriculum. Their nextwebinar will be presented by GTA Member Insitu. From ODE:

"Meet one of the pioneers of the emerging unmanned aerialsystems (UAS) industry. From Search and Rescue, toinfrastructure inspection and research, applications for UASare increasing exponentially. March 3: Oregon Aviation Industries Quarterly Meeting

Apr 6-7: AUVSI Cascade Spring Conference in WA

AUVSI Cascade recently announce that Mark Bathrick, theDirector of Aviation Services for the U.S. Department of theInterior, will keynote at its Spring Conference on April 6-7 on JointBase Lewis-McChord in Tacoma. Bathrick is responsible for allaviation operations 500 million acres of public land in the UnitedStates. In this role, he oversees the operation of 1,200 mannedand unmanned aircraft, both owned directly by the governmentand flying under contract with the Department of the Interior.Registration will open soon.
