AVIATION SECTOR
The Indian aviation industry is one ofthe fastest growingaviation industries in the world.
Today, private airlines account for around 75 per cent share
of the domestic aviation market. India is the 9th largest
aviation market in the world. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, around 29.8
million passengers travelled India during 2008, an
increase of30 per cent on previous year. It is predicted
that international passengers will grow upto 50 million by2015.
Further, due to enhanced opportunities and
international connectivity, 69 foreign airlines from 49
countries are flying into India.

24% annual growth
Domestic airlines flew 3.67 million passengers in August
2009an increase of25 per cent.
The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) forecasted that
domestic traffic will increase by 25% to 30% till the end of
2010 and international traffic growth by 15%, taking the
total market to more than 100 million passengers by 2010.
The government plans to invest US$ 9 billion to modernise
existing airports by 2010. The government is also planning
to develop around 300 unused airstrips.

Growth
India ranks fourth after US, China and Japan in terms of domesticpassengers volume.
The number of domestic flights grew by 69 per cent from 2005 to
2008. The domestic aviation sector is expected to grow at a rate of 9-
10 per cent to reach a level of 150-180 million passengers by 2020.
Further, there has been an increase in tourist charter flights to India
in 2008 with around 686 flights bringing 150,000 tourists.

Father is a teacher in a municipal school ,from
where he also did his schooling.
He used to go his school bare-footed as they
were not financially sound.
He joined the NDA and later graduated from
the Indian Military Academy as acommissioned officer in the Indian Army &
served in the Army for eight years.

Journey of air Deccan
The airline named air deccan was started by Captain G.R. Gopinath
Its first flight took off on 23 August 2003 from Hyderabad
to Vijaywada.[
It was known popularly as the common man'sairline, with is logo showing two palms joined together
to signify a bird flying. The tagline of the airline was
"Simpli-fly,"

His main objective was to see a economywhich grows with equity in growth.
He not only analysis his targeted customer
profile but he also found that there are about450 air port including small, underdeveloped,
unused port across the country
No any company use it & he used it and
connected small towns.
He convinced 4000 retail outlets & 400 petrol
pumps to sale tickets.

The reservation system managed by him for
the people shows his innovative idea and

Starting from 1 aircraft from 2003 he made
Possible 42 aircrafts to bee fly within 3yrs. They usually own 1 aircraft in a month but
later on by 2006 they need 2 aircraft a
month.(b&a)
They cover 60 airport a day. And 300 flight a
day.(3 TO 7 MILLIONS)
They successfully attracted there targeted
customers.(50% 1st time flyer.)

MERGER OF AIR DECCAN
On 19 December 2007, it was announced
that Air Deccan would merge with
Kingfisher Airlines
These merger became effective on April
2008, with Vijay Mallya becoming the
chairman and CEO of the new company,
while G. R. Gopinath became its Vice-chairman.

Deccan Aviation reported a loss ofRs 419
crore for the year ended June 30, 2007 on its
books.
The collapse of the ticket reservation system
which the airline had outsourced to Interglobe
