MARKET COMMENTARY
Indian equity benchmarks traded on a firm note throughout the day ahead of earnings season and macroeconomic numbers due this week. The benchmarks snapped two-day falling streak in absence of domestic as well as global cues and ended in green. The markets made a positive start in early deals receiving support with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement dismissing the slowdown concerns, that higher tax mop up indicates uptick in economic activity. For today's trade Nifty likely to tradein the range between8265 – 8315.

Commodities Gain as Dollar, U.S. Stocks Fluctuate: Markets Wrap: - U.S. stocks were fluctuated with the dollar as post-election asset moves stalled a day before Donald Trump is slated to hold a press conference that could elucidate his policy preferences. Commodities advanced amid rising producer prices in China. Dollar steadies as traders bet on
anodyne Trump conference: - The dollar recovered from earlier losses on Tuesday, on the view the market had over-reacted to worries about U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's first news conference. The dollar had fallen as much as 1 percent against a basket of currencies (DXY) since the start of the week. Investors had fretted that Trump -who takes office on Jan. 20 - could shake markets at Wednesday's press conference by taking an aggressive line on issues such as trade policy and relations with China.
Gold rallies to 6-week high ahead of Trump news conference:- Gold prices rallied to a six-week high on Tuesday, amid jitters ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s first news conference since his election victory on Wednesday. Gold for February delivery on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange touched a session peak of $1,190.60 a troy ounce, a level not seen since November 30.
U.S. natural gas rebounds 5% as forecasts turn colder: - U.S. natural gas futures edged higher on Tuesday, rebounding from sharp losses in the prior session as forecasts for the end of January turned colder, boosting demand for the heating fuel.
