So plenty of seats remain for each trip! Call Jeff at 641-683-6423 to make reservations. The Riverside Casino trip Oct. 21 will have a pick-up in Chariton at 7:30 am and Albia at 8 am. Both casino buses leave Ottumwa at 9 am. Included in the $35/person cost is lunch at the Robert’s Buffet and $10 in free slot play. Don’t forget to bring your photo ID and your Riverside Players Card (if you have one.) Those lovable ladies are back one last time! Our trip to “Church Basement Ladies: The Last (Potluck) Supper” at Old Creamery Theater in Amana Nov. 4 starts with shopping time in Amana and a wonderful, family- style lunch (oven-baked steak and broasted chicken) and pie at Ronneburg Restaurant. The cost is $84/person. SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX Oklahoma City, Fort Worth, Austin & San Antonio February 6-14, 2016 ~ $999/person (double) There is so much to see and do on this trip to sunny south Texas in early February! Lodging and beach lounging on South Padre Island for four nights plus dolphin watch and eco-cruise, Sea Life Center, South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center and Brownsville zoo and botanical park. Our motor coach trip includes Oklahoma City Bricktown historic district, Heartland Flyer 206-mile train ride through scenic Arbuckle Mountains, Fort Worth Stockyards dining, shops and museums, Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Memorial and Museum in Austin and San Antonio River Walk and The Alamo! Package includes: 8 nights quality lodging, 12 meals (8 breakfasts, 3 lunches and one dinner) all admissions, Elite Tours coordinator and luggage handling. Travel protection insurance is available. Glenda and Lynn Burrows of Bloomfield finish up their day at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Aug. 19. Instead of “too hot” or “too wet” our day at the fair featured overcast skies and unseasonably cool temperatures in the upper 60s. On the bus and heading home from the fairgrounds Aug. 19 are Don Abbas and Burr Brown, both of Ottumwa. We had a few sprinkles to deal with as the last few club members boarded the motor coach for the trip home.

The GOPP Mystery Trip Sept. 10 took 51 members to Winterset and Madison County for an up-close look at the famous covered bridges, the new John Wayne Birthplace Museum, the beautiful square and courthouse, and Howell’s Tree Farm. Lunch was at another “Bridges of Madison County” movie landmark, the Northside Café.

Over 85 members enjoyed a beautiful fall picnic at Ottumwa

Park, with Bubba Q’s lunch, BINGO and prizes on Sept. 23.
