The party starts at 10AM in the North Field in Liberty State Park and inside the Historic CRRNJ Terminal, where you can enter our Kids’ Fun Run. Running keeps you healthy and there is nothing like breathing in the fresh air; plus everyone will win prizes! Even your parents can join in the fun by running in our 5K Run and 5K Walk for Liberty, sponsored by the Friends of Liberty State Park. Be sure to visit our “Kids’ Kingdom” inflatable play area, with its huge slide! There will be face painting, arts and crafts, music on stage throughout the day, strolling entertainers and contests for every kid! Free tree seedlings will also be given out, courtesy of the NJDEP’s Division of Parks and Forestry.

Kids for Clean Communities- Clean Teens’09 Awards

You can nominate someone at your school or youthgroup, or even an exceptional individual that youknow, for the Kids for Clean Communities & CleanTeens 2009 Awards.

Nominees who have started an educational programor project that helps to make New Jersey cleaner andgreener are eligible. Topics can include recycling,beautification and litter reduction – to name a few.

Awards for outstanding achievement will be handedout on May 19th at the Kids for Clean Communities -Clean Teens Seminar & Awards Program, at RobertTreat Hotel, Newark. Hurry up and submit yournomination though – the deadline is April 30, 2009!!!

&Stride Ride!&Stride Ride!Smart kids know that when it comes to getting around, walking or biking ismuch better for our environment than driving. Riding your bicycle to thepark or walking to school won’t cause any pollution at all. Taking those sametrips in a car can send harmful pollutants into our atmosphere.

So where do all the cool kids go to show off some of their skills and learnmore about the benefits of walking and biking? The “2009 Hudson TMAStride and Ride,” a free family event hosted by the Hudson TransportationManagement Association on Saturday, June 3rd from 10am to 3pm inBraddock Park, North Bergen.

There will be walking races, free entertainment, raffles and giveaways. Kidsages 3 to 5 can participate in a “Bike Rodeo,” a junior obstacle course teachingsafe cycling skills. Parents and family members can also enjoy hands ontraining with their children ages 4 and up in our “Teach Your Child to Ride”activity.

So bring your own bicycle and let yourparents know that tricycle and strollersare welcome too. We’ll see you there!
