How to ensure that your goals, objectives, strategies, and activities
support student achievement

the particular goals?
Organizational Goals
• Multi-tiered Systems of Support• School culture/climate• Differentiation
Does this organizational goal describe a building-wide structure/process/procedure
that will support student achievement?
Objectives
• Is it specific?• Is it measurable?• Is it achievable?• Is it realistic?• Is it time bound?
Subgroups• Are there subgroups that are performing
lower than “All Students”?– Bottom 30%– Race/Ethnicity– Gender– Economically Disadvantaged– Students with Disabilities
Strategies
• Does the strategy describe what the teachers/adults will do?
• Is the strategy likely to increase achievement of students in the bottom 30%?
• Will this strategy meet the criteria of the measurable objective?
Activities• Will this activity ensure the strategy has the
potential to:– impact student achievement in the classroom?– effectively put into place a building-wide process,
structure, or procedure that will support student achievement?
• How will this activity impact implementation of the strategy?

to randomly select School Improvement Plans for review in accordance with the Revised School Code Act 451 of
1976, Section 380.1277, School Improvement Plan.
