Group and Troop Camp!Group Camp at Camp Graham is a blast! Troops and groups, completewith leaders, spend a week exploring the wilds of Vance County and KerrLake while swimming, sailing, canoeing, and enjoying other fun campactivities. These week and half-week sessions are designed for a groupof girls and adults to attend resident camp as a unit. Stay for a week-longsession, arriving Sunday afternoon and leaving Friday evening. For a half-week session come Wednesday afternoon and stay until Friday.

At Group Camp, girls camp in groups and attend with their troop/groupleader or other adult. Camp Graham provides a "core" staff, includingcamp director, lifeguards, health supervisor, arts and crafts director, anddining hall staff. Each group has the opportunity to plan some of theirown activities and can also participate in some waterfront, sports, crafts, and all-camp sessions led by the camp staff. Meals are prepared for youin the dining hall, and training is provided for Group Camp leaders beforeyou’re off to camp. It really is the best of all worlds – a campingexperience away from home, camping with your closest troop/groupbuddies, and meeting new girls from other areas at camp. What elsecould you ask for?

For the past 31 years, Camp Kaleidoscope has been a part of CampGraham. Through Camp Kaleidoscope, chronically ill children are givena chance to take a break from hospitals and have some fun in theoutdoors.

The boys and girls who attend Camp Kaleidoscope all have chronicdiseases such as cancer, asthma, kidney disease, or heart disease.Doctors, nurses, and other professionals from the Department ofPediatrics at Duke University Medical Center spend the week with thecampers in the Kaleidoscope Unit. They participate in all aspects ofcamp.

For most of these kids, going to Camp Graham is their first campingexperience because they cannot go camping without doctors, nurses, therapists, and special equipment. Without the Kaleidoscope program, many of the children would never have a chance to experience the funof summer camp.

This year, girls and boys in the Camp Kaleidoscope program will be atCamp Graham the weeks of July 4-9, July 11-16, and July 18-23.
