The FIDI Accredited International Mover (FAIM) Accreditation is unique in the moving industry. All FIDI Affiliates must obtain and maintain FAIM Accreditation on a continual basis. FAIM is independently audited by the highly reputable global accountancy firm EY (Ernst & Young).

DO YOU QUALIFY FOR FIDI MEMBERSHIP?

To qualify as a FAIM Applicant you must meet the basic requirements below:

1. Comply with FIDI Regulations once accredited

2. Operate in inter-continental moving services and have been doing so continuously for at least the previous 2 years prior to application (Inter-continental removals means border crossing removals by air freight or sea freight from one customs area to another)

3. Perform a minimum of 10 inter-continental moves per year (acting as the booker)

4. Have appropriate and adequate insurance cover* in place as evidenced by the Insurance Declaration signed by the Applicant’s insurance company or insurance broker

5. Sign the FIDI Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Charter (FIDI ABC Charter) and the FIDI Anti-Trust Charter (FIDI ATC)

6. Be financially healthy (your financial health will be checked by an independent auditor during the application phase)

STEP BY STEP – FAIM APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Purchase the FAIM documentation (1000 EUR).

2. Self assess your current FAIM compliance level and use the Pre-audit assessment to identify any shortfalls so that new measures can be implemented to fulfill the criteria. Once you meet all FAIM requirements you will submit FAIM Pre-audit documentation to the FAIM Coordination Centre (FCC).

3. The auditors will perform pre-requisite checks and you will enter into a 28 day objection phase*.

4. The FAIM audit will take place with an auditor performing an onsite visit, known as the compliance procedure.

5. Once you pass the FAIM compliance procedure successfully, the final step is to pay the FIDI entrance and membership fees. Once you have been published as a FIDI Affiliate, you will have access to all FIDI Services.

* 28 day period for existing Affiliates to lodge any objections about your potential FIDI Affiliation (the objection can only relate to knowledge that you do not fulfill FAIM requirements or comply with the FIDI Statutes)

FASI – FIDI Affiliates Secured Invoices – Offers recovery of unpaid invoices when using fellow FIDI partners so that you can focus your energy on new business instead of debt collection.

Payment Protection – In the unlikely event that a FIDI Affiliate defaults or goes bankrupt, 90% of your invoice total will be paid back to you, giving you the confidence to use any FIDI partner.

FIDI Academy Training – Award nominated industry training available in all formats, allowing you and your staff to be trained to be the best.

FIDI Communications – FIDI has a portfolio of communication channels including a dedicated website for members only (FIDINET). These offer several advertising opportunities too, see overleaf for more details.

FIDI Resources – FIDI shares the latest industry, immigration and customs news as well as custom guides so you are the first to know of any events that impact your business.

FIDI Professional Cooperation Guidelines – Acts as a default SLA if you need one and helps you deliver an optimal service by providing a guideline on effective intercontinental moving processes.

Dispute Resolution – Sometimes disputes between partners can happen. If it comes to it, you can avoid expensive legal costs and let FIDI’s Industry Expert Panel evaluate the case and help you reach a resolution.

FIDI Charity – Demonstrate your corporate social responsibility and help FIDI change lives. FIDI supports charity projects where a tangible difference can be made and you can be assured that every cent goes to a person in need.

FIDI Conference – This annual four day event offers networking in a convivial environment and includes discussion panels on the latest industry trends, award-winning keynote speeches designed to help you succeed, social events in luxury settings, team building and more.

FIDI MEMBERSHIP FEES OVERVIEW

FAIM is on a 3 year audit cycle. FIDI membership costs €3,387 per cycle year, less than €10 per day.

In the initial entrance year, applicants

are required to pay entrance fees,

the FAIM Audit Procedure and

Following the FIDI entrance year, FAIM follows a 3 year onsite audit cycle.

Years 1 and 2 membership fees are 2,000 EUR per annum.

Year 3 costs increase to 6160 EUR to include the 3 yearly FAIM audit costs.

This 3 year cycle will repeat throughout your FIDI Affiliation.
