GIFFARDS PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
Volume 5 No 10 June 2019 Dear Parents/Carers
Medical Conditions If your child is diagnosed as having any new medical
condition that the school is not aware of please can we ask that
you inform us as soon as possible to ensure our records are
accurate and that your child is given appropriate care if
necessary. If your child is diagnosed as having asthma it is vital
that an asthma pump is brought into school should your child
need it during the day.
We are a cashless school
As most people are aware we provide an online payment system which is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week so parents/carers can pay for dinners, trips, swimming etc. securely and safely. As previously advised from 23rd April 2019 we will be unable to take any cash for payment of dinners, trips, swimming or music lessons however we are offering for parents the chance to pay via credit card at the counter/over the phone as well as via the online payment system. Please contact the office if you would like a copy of your online payment (SCOPAY) details and instructions on how to setup your account or if you have lost your log in details.
Reminder We would like to remind you that no child is allowed back on school premises after school to watch any sporting events
unless supervised by an adult who must ensure the child is with them at all times.
Children are also not permitted to play on or with school equipment, please ensure all children remain with parents while
waiting for children in KS2 playground. It has been brought to our attention that children are playing on the basketball
posts and as a result some of these posts are now cracked and they have had to be removed. The school cannot be re-
sponsible for any child back on the school site after hours unless they are involved in a club or participating in an event.
We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
KS1 Parents
A polite reminder, due to the children’s ages could parents
please escort their children onto the school premises and to the
teaching staff at the gate in the mornings. This is to ensure the
children arrive safely and come straight into the school.
Thank you.
School House The school house has now been let, we would like to take this opportunity to
reassure all parents that the new tenants credentials have been checked
thoroughly and are in order including a DBS check. We have also secured all
entrances including the gate which has been replaced with fencing so the new
tenants do NOT have direct access.
Medication If your child has been given medication, you will need
to complete a Medication Form and hand in the
measured dose to the school office at the beginning of
the school day.
Please do not bring medication in during the school
day.
Food Allergies/Dietary Requirements Meeting
Does your child suffer from food allergies or have
any special dietary requirements?
If so we will be holding a meeting for parents to
meet the school cook and discuss any
requirements and to answer any questions you
may have about the School Dinner Menu.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday 2nd July at
2.30pm in the KS2 Hall.
If you are unable to attend but have questions then
please call the school office who will pass on any
queries to the school cook.
Good Luck to all of our Year 6 Children who are visiting their new schools next week.
Year 6 Harry Potter Trip
The Yr 6 children had a Magical time at the Harry Potter

travel by Broomstick. They had a walk through the Forbidden
Forest and a stroll down Diagon Alley.
The children were exhausted by the end of the day.

A great time was had by all!
Lateness and Dinners
If your child is going to be late for school for any reason and
you wish them to have a school dinner then could you please
