Get out a piece of paper (for your binder) and label it:
Sentence DictationsGrammar, Spelling, and Vocabulary
DirectionsListen to the following sentence, and
write it with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
ALL of these sentences will be part of your binder check.
Number and date them as we go (you can keep them on the same page)
1. Wednesday, November 7, 20121. To avoid horrendous grammar and
spelling mistakes and to get immediate feedback, sentence dictations will be given daily.
Infinitive phrase = to plus verb◦ If you start a sentence with one, place a
comma after the phrase Parallelism – phrases “match” (to avoid &
to get) Spelling words!

yesterday DRAW A LINE & PUT THE DATE (11/8).
(*if you were not here yesterday, start a new sheet of paper with the date)
Then:List at least 3 symbols in everyday life
that are used to represent something else.◦For example,
<3 symbolizes love

that you begin as soon as you walk in the door.
It will go in your binder AFTER yesterday’s “sentence dictation” and BEFORE today’s sentence dictation.
Separate them by them dates. Draw a line to show the separation.
