OURTECHNOLOGIES

PREFABRICATED VERTICAL DRAINPrefabricated vertical drains are a quick and efficient method of hastening compaction of compressible waterlogged soils that consists of implementing vertical drains into ground, which reduce the filtration route and time needed to drain water to surface. This technology is used in combination with temporary or target loaded embankments, in particular for road structures with big surfaces, e.g. roads, car parks, or repositories.

Vibro technologies are universal methods of reinforcing ground used mainly to place facilities on ground with insufficient support. Three basic variants of vibro technology differ between each other with principle of operation and spreading load on ground. Optimal foundation solution is developed by our specialists in co-operation with investor and facility builder.

Vibro compaction is used on loose ground with low content of dusty fraction, which is reinforced by concentrating them.

Vibro replacement consist of forming aggregate columns, which take over load in weak, non-compressing cohesive soils.

Vibrated pile-like elements, e.g. concrete or cemented columns, can take over and spread relatively big load to deeper soils. They are used when aggregate columns do not provide a permanent reinforcement of ground due to lack of resistance from surrounding soil.

VIBRO TECHNOLOGIES

Geotechnics

Dynamic Compaction (DC) is a technology used to reinforce ground that consists of compacting loose soils using a load dropped from a crane. Load with mass between 5 and 25 tonnes is lifted to appropriate height (10 to 30 m) and then is dropped onto reinforced ground.Few hits are done in several reinforcement points and created craters are filled with aggregate. If cohesive or organic soils undergo reinforcing, then the used technology is called Dynamic Replacement (DR). It consists of driving aggregate into reinforced soil and creating gravel-sand or stone columns with 1-2 m diameter. In case of DR technology is used rammer with shape different than DC technology rammer.

Soilcrete® Jet Grouting is used to reinforce and seal all types of soils. This technology consists of forming cement-ground lumps in soil using concentrated stream of water to cut out soil or grout and its grouting. Soilcrete® technologies are used to take up buildings, repair foundations, secure deep excavation, and seal dikes and barriers. Soilcrete® columns are also used as horizontal and vertical antifiltration covers.

Compaction Grouting consists of pumping an injection grout with thick-plastic or plastic texture into ground. Grout spread in the soil as a relatively uniform mass and simultaneously creates spherical injection lumps. Soil surrounding injection place is moved, which leads to the improvement of its physical and mechanical parameters.

DYNAMIC COMPACTION

SOILCRETE® JET GROUTING

COMPACTION GROUTING

SOILFRAC® INJECTIONSoilfrac® injection is used to solve many issues in specialised underground construction, especially in places where a correction of vertical position of construction facilities is necessary. For this purpose, an injection manufactured on the basis of cement is pumped in a controlled manner through a system of previously made injection pipes. In combination with unique measurement technique developed for this purpose and precise work progress control it is possible to safely lift up existing construction facilities.

DSM wet TECHNOLOGYDSM_wet (Deep Soil Mixing) technology was invented in Japan and is constantly more often used in the world to reinforce weak ground. Its application leads to a drastic improvement of mechanical properties of existing ground, which after mixing with cement grout takes the form of so-called cement-ground. DSM columns are used to place foundations of road structures (e.g. viaduct pillars and bridgeheads), place foundations of buildings, as reinforcement under road embankments, antifiltration covers, and to construct foundation trenches. If needed, DSM columns can be reinforced with steel profile. A variant of this technology is a method of dry deep soil mixing (DSM_dry). In this method, instead of grout is provided cement powder, lime, blast furnace gravel, volatile ashes, gypsum, bentonite, etc.The presence of groundwater is required to start the cement binding process.

SOIL NAILINGSoil nailing is an economic technology that improves steadiness of scarps, slopes, and foundation trenches. Steadiness improvement is obtained by reinforcing soil with steel rods (nails) that intersect potential skid lines. Thanks to this technology retaining constructions, that allow to replace gentle scarps and slopes with steep or vertical walls, can be shaped in the field. Walls from nailed soil are secured with surface coating that fulfils stabilisation role, aesthetic role, and protective role against erosion.

MICROPILESMicropiles. Made from system micropiles, which are protected by Keller’s patent (MESI), the method consists of immersing steel pipe ended with expanded conical crown in soil using drilling-impact method and then injecting grout. MESI system micropiles are made from high quality steel pipes, which in the area of spreading loads are equipped with injection jets. Registration of immersion resistance allows to adjust the length of micropile to current soil conditions. After pipe is immersed in ground, injection phase that can be carried out numerous times thanks to special construction of injection jets occurs. This allows to obtain high micropile load bearing capacity by mobilising friction on side wall in the area of load bearing soils. We also make other system micropiles, e.g. TITAN, GONAR, SAS, and DYWIDAG.

CFA PILESCFA piles are used in case of necessity to transfer big load from foundations to deep support layers. They are made using Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) and without piping. Drilling and concreting is carried out in two separate phases occurring directly one after another During drilling and concreting occurs a partial sideway expansion of soil deposits present in the ground, which has a positive effect on load bearing capacity of piles. Thanks to the use of jolt-free technique it it possible to make piles close to existing buildings. We offer CFA piles with diameters of 430 mm, 630 mm, 800 mm, and 1,000 mm.

DIAPHRAGM WALLSDiaphragm walls are made using special hydromills thanks to which in soil can be dug out deep pipe trenches (gaps) in a cover made from thixotropic suspension.Steel reinforcement is placed inside prepared gaps, which later are filled with concrete mix. This type of ferroconcrete walls in soil can constitute as retaining walls protecting trenches and simultaneously target underground structure. Deep, multi-level undergrounds are made using steel spreaders, ground anchors, or gantry methods in diaphragm wall technology. Because diaphragm walls are made from small segments, so-called sections, it is possible to form underground floors into any shape. Single sections of diaphragm walls (barettes) or section groups can be also used as large-diameter piles that spread exceptionally big loads.

ANTIFILTRATION BARRIERSAntifiltration barriers are use in order to limit migration of water or other liquid substances. Appropriate technology of executing a barrier is selected depending on occurring soil conditions and migration speed. To basic techniques belong narrow-gap covers made by vibrated profiles (WIPS) or specially prepared shakers, palisades, made from DSM columns and deep covers made using gap hydromills. Such barriers are used i.e. to seal flood embankments, reduce influence of dehydration on protected areas, or to limit migration of contaminated liquid substances.Increasingly more often we use in construction horizontal antifiltration covers made using Soilcrete® technology in order to limit inflow of groundwater through the bottom of foundation trench.

DISPLACEMENT PILESDisplacement piles allow to make foundation support in a quick and economic way. They are made in organic or low-bearing soils. The piles can be made through vibrating, screwing, or driving. Technologies prevent ground spoils from reaching surface thanks to what occurs the effect of reinforcing soil around piles and thus, their load bearing capacity increase. We offer displacement piles with diameters of 350 mm, 400 mm, and 600 mm.

GROUND ANCHORSGround anchors are construction elements that transfer tensile forces to load bearing layer of soils. Loads are spread to poker, which then spreads forces to surrounding soil through friction, using ropes. Anchors are auxiliary construction elements of i.e. palisades and diaphragm walls. We also make permanent anchors and anchors with high bearing capacity (up to 3,000 kN).
