• Dedicated on October 24, 1931 and opened to traffic the following day.

• Named in honor of the 1st president of the united states.

• The george washington bridge is 4,760 feet long has 14 lanes 8 upper deck and 6 lower deck.

• It crosses Hudson River the bridge is double decked suspension bridge.

• Made out of steel its also 119 feet wide and 604 feet high.The daily traffic on the bridge is 280,718 cars.
