Things to explore with your child!

Home Learning:

Homework is set on Friday and due in on Wednesday. In addition to regularly practising the key skills of reading, spellings and times tables, there is a home learning project which runs throughout the half term. Each idea has a number of stars that will be earned if the task is completed. If children gain ten stars, they will be rewarded during the final week of the term.

Times Tables:

By the end of year 4, it is expected that children will know all of their times tables up to 12 X 12 and the related division facts.

It would be great if you could practise the times tables each week using Times Table Rockstars online!

Home Reading:

Children are expected to read for pleasure at least 3 times a week for 10 minutes. They can tick off which days they have read in their home reading passport, which needs signing by an adult at home each week. Please encourage your child to complete an Accelerated Reader quiz when they have finished a book to help them meet their reading target.

Open Afternoon, Events and Trips:

Greek Day! Tuesday 8th February.

Open afternoon - Thursday 14th February @ 2:15

Spellings:

Spellings are set weekly. A list of the weekly spellings can be found in your child’s homework book along with a sheet of suggested fun activities for you to choose from to practise spellings in different ways. The weekly spellings will be tested on a Friday.
