All- I ran into an issue with AFR on a report written last night by the probationary I was training. We had evidence placed in the property room and multiple offenses. However, in the property section we were only able to associatethe evidence to 1 offense, even though it was related to 2 offenses due to there being radio buttons versus check boxes in theassociation field. We just associated it with the higher offense. Just an FYI, but you might consider making them check boxes. Also, ran into poss of fireworks the other day and the offense is not available in AFR, unless it is named something ridiculous. We justused Ord Violation, but might consider adding it with New Years coming up. Colt Arnold #1269San Antonio Police DepartmentEast Patrol - C Shift

Find attached two PDF files of missing AFR reports so that they may be scanned into RMS. The following show up on the AFR missing list but are actually already in the RMS system and shouldnot be on the list that has been sent to Patrol: SAPD11214003SAPD11265747SAPD11259172SAPD11264200SAPD11286378 The below listed report has a computer glitch and apparently cannot be cleared from the system, norforwarded through the work flow process. Here are two more AFR reports that can not be addressed by the officers due the inability to add theirmissing badge numbers. These reports continuously show up on our outstanding AFR reports lists andcan not be corrected on our side of the house. We have been advised this is a vendor issue and theywill need to go in and add the badge numbers? SAPD11226966 – M. DiamondSADP11228609 – R. Tamez Sgt. To whom it may concern, Approximately two weeks ago I created a work ticket for listed desk top unit (asset # 1002553) Thedesk top is located at Prue in the PPB/PPC Lt. Office. The issue is with Denali. The program is notworking properly and when you attempt to download a report for review the report is totally lost anddoes not show up in the draft box. Now it appears the reports submitted by the officer are lost. Whenattempting the sync’s an error message is received. I have received no feed back on when theproblem will be handled. I would appreciate a response on when the computer will be looked a t fixed. Thanks,Sergeant Wayne Shoquist # 3279Patrol, North West Service Area, “C” ShiftSan Antonio Police DepartmentP.O. In the expeditor office seems like there is a problem with submitting thepolice reports and they are not going through the system. Citizens aregoing to pick up police reports at the community link and downtownlocations and the staff members are telling the citizens no police reportwas done and to call the person who did the police report. When I askmy employees about the reports they provide me with a copy of thepolice report that was submitted. There seems to be a problemsomewhere with the system. Thank you. Any word as to the time used in getting responses for telephone searches? I’m looking for a fasterway, so I can continue researching. Also, there is not a way to add an advanced search dropdown box for apartment numbers? Thanks

From: William Hunt Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2012 3:06 PMTo: PD AFR SupportCc: Frank Martinez; Encarnacion Guzman; Joe A Rios (SAPD/ROP); Carthel Williams (SAPD)Subject: RE: apartment searches While I agree this is an issue, isn’t this the same issue we already have with address input also?Investigators are not able to use this system as it was supposed to be used. The cost factor ofresearching an apartment complex is very time consuming, when searching for a specific apartment. Iknow I’m preaching to the choir, but I believe this needs to be addressed. Wouldn’t the easiest thing, be, to have an advanced search, much like” the phone number the caller iscalling from “ in a drop down-box, added for apartment number. This way the investigator can use“contains” in case a number sign or other than simple numbers added to find a specific apartment atan address? I realize Columns may be the up and coming system to use, but how long before this comes on line? The information is already in RMS from Officer’s report entries. It is sad we cannot extract theinformation from a system in which we input the information into. And, since I’m on a roll, have ya’llseen how long it takes to run an advanced search of a phone number the caller is calling from? I use“contains” simply because I know the RMS system responds in different ways to the way we ask it toresearch something. Anyway,Thanks for the ear and I hope someone can clarify the issues above so that all of us are on the samepage. It might be better to tell us what the system cannot do so I do not have to bother ya’ll. I knowYa’ll did not create this system, but after a year, is still very frustrating. Billy

Supervisors please read at roll calls: Important Notice Regarding December 31, 2011 Reports As of now, any 2012 CFS and 2012 case numbers are being generatedaccurately. This issue only affects CFS numbers worked the night ofDecember 31, 2011 on the cusp of the New Year: SAPD-IT is working with TriTech on a known CAD issue where Dec 31st2011 Calls For Service incidents were issued case numbers incorrectly. Insome cases, case numbers were issued as SAPD12xxxxxx when the CFSwas for 2011. In other cases, the case number was issued reusing casenumbers from last year. For example SAPD11000001 was issued wherethe year did not roll up to 12 but the last six digits rolled for the new year. The end result is there are old case numbers reissued for the new year.Records will be rejecting back reports submitted with an erroneous casenumber to minimize reports flowing into RMS with erroneous numbers. ActionPlease keep these rejected reports in your Inbox on the server so the casecan be paired with a correct 2011 number. We anticipate by the end of theweek the correct case numbers can be communicated out for those CFSthat were worked on the cusp of the New Year. Once the new number hasbeen generated, you will be notified to resubmit your report with the rightcase number.

Ripley who shared that his computer is relatively new and that you assisted him with acquiringit. He stated that this computer has not worked well since he got it in general. Specific to RMS, the firstthing I want to troubleshoot is if it has Adobe installed, or it could be that this computer is not in theright OU. It's difficult to diagnose since I can't remote to it. He stated that no one can log into thiscomputer using the convention tools but that the techs have had to use a tool called Bomgar to do so. Iam going to reassign this ticket to your queue.

I believethat your peers access RMS via a Citrix account and that RMS is not loaded on those PCs bydesign. Please confirm if that is the case. If it is, then I will need to forward this ticket to the groupwho can provision you a Citrix account. Notes: User states RMS is not loading up. User updated RMS however never loads for user.

For example SAPD11000001 was issued where

  • the year did not roll up to 12 but the last six digits rolled for the new year. Finally, personnel are encouraged to run the “FULL CODE SYNC” inorder to update the various drop downs in the AFR report. Best regards, PD AFR SUPPORT TEAM email:[email protected]@SanAntonio.gov

Ted,If you send me your computer ID, I can try to remote into it to get rid of this pop up message. I’m not familiar with the reports choice you mentioned. Or maybe I’m not understanding correctly. Which module are you talking about? DO you have a screen shot of that? Ican take a look when I log in your computer. Please send the ID and more info about the reports choice. Thanks! Leslie AnthonySystems Administration AnalystSan Antonio Police Department(210) 207-8650

In the ROP unit, John's case management system is still utilized, and cases are being assigned in that system by our dispatchers. Actual case management is not conducted in those systems, but daily reports are still entered. If you check the S.A.M. Resourcespage, you will notice under "SAPD Entry Systems", there is a tab for "Case Management System" and "Classic System". Each of thosesystems require separate sign-on passwords. John helped me this morning with the "Case Management System" sign-on, but I alsoneed a sign-on for the "Classic System". John suggested I check with you to obtain a "Classic System". I understand there is a muchnewer case management system which is utilized by the follow-up units. In addition to that system, especially in the ROP unit, I needaccess to the two previous systems. I tried reaching you at the extension listed in your signature, but was told you are assigned to the AFR team. Is there an extension Ican reach you at? Thanks!! Det. Scott J.
