Announcements • HOMECOMING 2017 IS NEXT WEEK! Check out the activities and theme days planned on the flip side of this

newsletter! • Mae Jemison High School has challenged us to a fundraising competition this week before we play each

other on Friday at Milton Frank. They will be fundraising for Breast Cancer and we will be fundraising for Autism, with the totals to be announced at the game. Half the proceeds of all Homecoming Dance Tickets sold this week during school will go to the nonprofit Autism Speaks. Tickets cost $10 before/ $20 the day of the dance and can be purchased in the cafeteria during Power Hour.

• If you are interested in playing Tennis this season, you will need to meet Coach Wilson on the tennis courts Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (October 16, 17, & 18). Tryouts will begin promptly at 4:00 and end at 6:00. Contact Coach Wilson with any questions: 256-851-6062 (work) or 256-527-4160 (home).

• There will be a college visit trip to the University of North Alabama (UNA) on Saturday November 11th, from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The trip is FREE and includes lunch at UNA and a football ticket. This will be a great opportunity for you and your friends to see an awesome college that you may be interested in attending. Permission slips are available on the wall down the hall from the counselors’ offices. Please turn in your permission slip to Mr. Holder in room 223 by Friday, November 3rd for a guaranteed spot!
