Introduction

This website was designed to meet the educational needs of fourth grade students. We wanted our students to learn about one of the most famous New Hampshire historical characters and the origin of the State Motto. Our research indicated that existing websites that relate to John Stark have a readability that is beyond the comprehension of most fourth grade students. Our team felt it worthwhile to design a website in which the content is geared towards an elementary audience.

Step Guides

In order to utilize this educational website, students

should have basic Internet experience. Teachers

should begin by demonstrating how the website

functions. For example, a teacher might first present

one page to the class, explain that the underlined

terms are linked to the glossary, and complete

the worksheet as a group activity in order to

emphasize the most important aspects of this topic.
