To approve order approving acceptance of a contract with the Greater DallasCouncil on Alcohol and Drug Abuse to collect data for the National Institute ofJustice (NIJ) on drug and alcohol use among incoming arrestees in the CountyJail, and authorizing the County Judge to sign the contract.

24. COURT ORDER:

To approve order granting authorization for the Department of Public Works topermanently waive the residence requirement for the current candidate for theposition of Open Space Park/Trail Designer, based onthe employee's vast amountof directly related experience and the lack of applicants with directly relatedexperience.

To approve order granting authorization for the Communications and CentralServices Department to temporarily waive the residence requirement for theposition of Records Management Officer, based on the employee's education andcertification as a Records Management Officer and the ability of the applicant tobecome immediately productive.

To approve order approving the submission of a Violence Against Women ActGrant to Encourage Arrest Policies application to the U.S. Department of Justiceto continue the current Dallas County Domestic Violence project, and authorizingthe County Judge to sign all documents relevant to said application.

To approve order concurring with the request of the Community Supervision andCorrections Department (CSCD) to continue to receive Victims of Crime Act(VOCA) funds provided through the Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of theGovernor's Office for the operation of the CSCD Victims Services Program at nocost to Dallas County.

28. COURT ORDER:

To approve order approving the renewal of the contract for the HouseholdHazardous Waste Program with Safety Kleen (formerly Laidlaw EnvironmentalServices) for an additional one-year period, effective March 19, 2000 throughMarch 18, 2001, and authorizing the County Judge to sign all related documents.

29. COURT ORDER:

To approve order authorizing the County Judge to attend the signing and sign, onbehalf of Dallas County, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) developed byparticipants from Dallas County, private, public, and other governmental entitiesto acknowledge and show support for the consolidated Alternative Fuel Vehicles(AFV) Procurement Project initiated by the Texas General Land Office (TxGLO).

30. COURT ORDER:

To approve order amending Court Order No. 99-2181 (11/16/99) to includeMilestone Services, Inc. as a vendor for which contracts and other relateddocuments may be signed by the County Judge in connection with the OracleFinancials Phase 3 Implementation.

To approve order approving Service Enhancement Request (SER) No. 62 in theamount of $111 ,000 with Data Services/SCT for installation requirements andconsulting services for the Dallas County District Attorney NetworkImplementation Project, and authorizing the County Judge to sign said SER No.62 on behalf of Dallas County.

To approve order approving the request made by the Dallas County JuvenileDepartment to submit an application for funding to the Telecommunications andInformation Infrastructure Assistance Program (TIIAP) to add referral informationabout social service providers to the Dallas County Juvenile Information System(JIS), which is currently being developed with Juvenile Accountability IncentiveBlock Grant (JAIBG) funds, and authorizing the County Judge to sign theapplication documents on behalf of Dallas County.
