Gel Coats are a versatile and durable primary layer used in the production of composite parts.
The majority of Gel Coats are applied as in-mold coatings, used in the first step in composites part production.
In-mold Gel Coats protect the mold from abrasion and chemical attack during the remainder of the production process and provide a releasable coating to aid in de-molding operations.
Gel Coats are often the exterior coating for composite parts, providing both the colour and texture of the part.
They can range in appearance from clear shades that allow visibility of subsequent layers, to pigmented coats that can be matched to an infinite array of colours.
They also protect the parts from weathering, moisture and chemical exposure.
In particular for the EMEA and Asia Pacific Areas, POLYCOR® is the most complete Gel Coats and Top Coats product line for the composite industry and its excellent quality is recognized by users worldwide.

Products in the IMEDGE range
Gel CoatHigh Gloss, blush resistant Gel Coats, formulated to be used as in-mold, exterior coatings for reinforced plastic parts. One of the products in the range incorporates Epoxy Compatible Technology that has been formulated to be used as an in-mold, exterior coating for epoxy resin matrix reinforced plastic parts.Tie coats are no longer needed, saving process steps and reducing part weight.
Barrier CoatHigh performance barrier coat formulated for use behind IMEDGE® in mold coatings and conventional Gel Coats.

European Premium Gel Coats - FireBlock™
FireBlock™ is an un-promoted flame-retardant Gel Coat. FireBlock™ products are non-halogenated. They contain no chlorine or brominated compounds, nor do they contain antimony trioxide.
FireBlock™ products do not require the addition of any fillers, monomers or other additives to achieve flame-retardant properties.

High Gloss BUFFBACK®
High Performance Flexible Gel Coats
ARMORFLEX® Gel Coats are Isophthalic-NPG products that display HIGH GLOSS BUFFBACK® qualities.
They are particularly suited to marine industry and provide durable products with reduced-maintenance needs.
Main qualities of BUFFBACK® include :
• Easier and quicker gloss recovery (less buffing time to achieve gloss)
• Higher gloss recovery when polishing back aged or exposed Gel Coat surfaces
• Higher gloss in the repair patch and surrounding refinished area
• Higher gloss recoverability from lower gloss moulds
Higher gloss can be perceived as a deeper, richer colour, providing an enhanced cosmetic appearance to the gel coated part.

POLYCOR® MESMERIC is the most recognisable fibreglass swimming-pool finishes range in Australia: it is unbeatable in terms of performance, practicality and value for money, as well as aesthetically beautiful.Formulated on POLYCOR® 943 Gel Coats, POLYCOR® MESMERIC pool finishes offer exceptional water and chemical resistance, as well as long lasting UV stability. Available in three distinct styles, there is a colour and texture combination that will co-ordinate with any architectural or exterior setting.
Mesmeric Stargaze has a brilliant deep sparkling lustrous finish that looks fabulous from a distance. The tiny sparkles change colour as the direction of light changes. A fantastic effect as wave action changes the sparkle in sunlight or by pool light at night.
Mesmeric Granitea has a slightly more restrained finish, still with a beautiful lustrous gloss, but with a fascinating stone texture enhancement, giving a subtle natural look.
Mesmeric Silken has a deep, lustrous gloss finish butwithout any texture effects – designed to blend into more traditional architectural surroundings.
