What are Resins?
Composite resins are supplied as liquids that, when catalyzed, cure to a solid and form the matrix that holds reinforcements together in composite parts. Resin formulations vary depending on the process used to fabricate the part and the requirements of the end use application.
Polynt Composites manufactures unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins for a wide variety of reinforced and non-reinforced composite applications. Drawing on our extensive knowledge of polymer chemistry, we build custom polymers from the molecular level to meet the specific needs of our customers.
Polynt’s extensive composite resins line includes products that can be used to fabricate composite parts for these major processes: Corrosion; CIPP (Cured-In-Place-Pipe); Flame-Retardant; Marble & Casting; Open Mold Laminating; Press Molding (SMC/BMC); Pultrusion; RTM & Vacuum Infusion; Tooling Resin.
Resins offered for each of these processes cover a wide range of chemistries including unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, and urethane hybrids. These chemistries can be used to formulate resins that meet a variety of end use requirements, such as cosmetic properties, mechanical properties, water resistance, chemical or corrosion resistance, and flame retardance.
The composite resins line also includes products formulated for more specialized processes, such as production of FRP tooling, filament winding, and centrifugal casting.

Unsaturated Polyester Resins
Polynt Composites USA Inc. is a leading producer of Unsaturated Polyester Resins and Epoxy Vinyl Ester Resins.
Polynt’s UPR composite resin product line is comprised of these chemistries:
• DCPD - Popular choice for automotive and marine applications requiring smooth surfaces and lower VOC’s
• Halogenated - Fire-retardant resins requiring enhanced fire, smoke and toxicity properties
• Isophthalic - Ideal for corrosion-resistant applications
• Orthophthalic - Cost-effective workhorse resins tailored to customer requirements
• Terephthalic - High temperature performance resins used for storage tank applications
Polynt offers a variety of low styrene, suppressed, and low VOC solutions for fabricators to control emissions. Our Low Styrene Resins are designed to be MACT and SCAQMD compliant while maintaining excellent process capabilities and finished mechanical properties. Polynt can also customize low to no VOC formulas to meet specific customer needs.
Polynt’s Low Styrene Resins can be used for:

Vinyl Ester Resins
Polynt’s Vinyl Ester resin product line delivers superior mechanical properties, high heat deflection temperatures, resistance to corrosion from a wide range of chemicals, and serves resin markets for conventional, fire-retardant, toughened vinyl ester, and our newly developed CSRVE Technology.
Polynt’s Vinyl Ester Base Resins and Vinyl Ester Resin Blends are premium grade thermosetting resins designed for a wide variety of processes and applications. Their outstanding mechanical properties make them ideal for applications that require excellent toughness and fatigue resistance, and they deliver superior performance in corrosion and blister resistance.
Polynt’s VE Base Resins and VE Resin Blends:
• Can be modified to customer requirements when shipped
in bulk
• Can be formulated for low and no VOC
• Are used in laminating and closed molding applications
• Offer exceptional cosmetics (low fiber print)
