3 Shut Down Error Handling

Following events course a "Shut Down" (immediate stop) through which in addition to oc-cured error the inverter will block immediately or only after repeated appearance in se-quence.

The errors B upto H don't already cause at first appearance the blocking of inverter insteadonly after repeated appearance.

The errors A and I cause blocking immediately.

* These errors cause complete switch off of inverter after corresponding number of ap-pearances .

** Faults of „Brake“-IGBT bring a complete switch off of inverter if they occur during still-stand for longer time. By that a overheating of brake resistor should be prevent.

In case the inverter had been blocked due to errors B upto H it is possible to compensatethe inverter blockage by means of Service Tool.

Connect the Service Tool and after push of <M> the following error message will display:

Second line: clear? (<Shift> <5>)

Push <Shift> <5> simultaneous for about 10 sec to cancel the error. The inverter is readyagain.

Attention!

Before starting the drive again the cause for error have to found and eliminated onthe other hand the inverter can be distroyed.

4 Preventive Maintenance

The preventive replacement of spare parts, such as capacitor board, fan and EEPROM, issupported by the Service Tool.

Maintenance menu: < M > < 2 > < 8 >1 Shows time of use of the package, capaci-

tor board, fan and EEPROM2 Allows to change the time of use of the

5 Replacement of Spare Parts

The OVF20 package requires preventive maintenance. The components that should bepreventatively replaced have the following proposed life times:

• Capacitor board: 8 years• Fan: 20000 hours• EEPROM: 65500 write cycles

When the end of life time of a spare part is comin up, then the Service Tool displays severalinstructions. After pressing <M><2><8> one or more messages will appear:

After replacing a spare part, the time of use in the maintenance service menu has to bechanged.

Caution! These parameters should normally not be changed.

These parameters have to be written only if either the capacitor board, fan orEEPROM has been replaced.

Parameters can’t be changed when the car is running.

6 Hints for Parameter Adjustment when Exchanging Spare Parts

6.1 Capacitor Board1. Replace the capacitor board2. Press <M><2><8><2><GO ON>... until “New CB Time?” appears.3. If the capacitor board is a “new” part (never used before) then set “Day” and “Year” to

zero (press “0” 5 times”). If the capacitor board is not a “new” part, then enter theamount of days and years that it has already been running.

4. Press <ENTER>.5. Press <M><2><8><1>

The new used-lifetime of the capacitor board is now shown in the maintenance statusmenu.

6.2 Fan1. Replace the fan.2. Press <M><2><8><2><GO ON>... until “New Fan Time?” appears.3. If the fan is a “new” part (never used before) then set “Day” and “Year” to zero (press

“0” 5 times”). If the fan is not a “new” part, then enter the amount of days and years thatit has already been running.

4. Press <ENTER>.5. Press <M><2><8><1>

The new used-lifetime of the fan is now shown in the maintenance status menu.

6.3 EEPROM1. Press <M><2><8><1>2. Press <GO ON> and note the following values:

- Abs Operat Time- Abs No. of Runs- Cap Board in use- Fan in use

3. Replace the EEPROM after switching off.4. Press <M><2><8><2>5. Press <GO ON> and enter the noted values (from step 2) into the Service Tool:

New System Time? <- Abs Operat TimeNew No. of Runs? <- Abs No. of Runs

(fill in the higher denominations with zeroes)New CB Time? <- Cap Board in useNew Fan Time? <- Fan in use

(only the number of days and years is required)6. Press <M><2><8><1>

The new parameters are now shown in the maintenance status menu.
