I have chosen to do my research on the Gatorade (owned by
PepsiCo). First and foremost I will be taking a look at the
companies competitive analysis. Gatorade has been around for a long
time surpassing fellow competitors such as Vitamin Water, PowerAde,
Pocari Sweat, and 100 plus as the number one sports drink in the
world. All other companies fail to deliver in the sense there
produces doesnt fight fatigue and boost brain fuel essential to
active lifestyle and athletes abroad. Gatorade presents your all in
one sport drink that promises to provide you a winning formula.
When it comes to winning its hard not to notice Gatorades countless
advertising and usage in professional sports. If a Hall of Fame
quarterback like Peyton Manning is seen drinking the product in
life action and on TV, the youth will clearly be influenced to try
the product. Its been scientifically tested that Gatorade hydrates
90% better than water and 45% better than any other sports
beverage, which is probably one of the biggest advantages Gatorade
has on the market. Not to mention with 2.6 billion dollars in sales
Gatorade takes 34.2% of the total marker share. Remarkably,
PowerAde is in second with only 8.6% of the total market share.
Gatorade also has more of a selection of products, from low calorie
drinks to protein drinks Gatorade has taken the entire competitors
to shame. Gatorades quality of products is show with all the pro
athletes showing off the drink. Being global Gatorade has a high
reputation that no other sports drink can match. Gatorade has much
importance to customers, which clearly is there health when they
need all the fuel they can get going threw their everyday lives.
Gatorade is in such high regards the company really only has one
weakness out there, which is the high amounts of sugar and calories
the drink has. PowerAde has come out with a zero calories drink
that Gatorade hasnt mastered yet. Threw and threw Gatorade stands
up at the top when it comes to sports drinks.
