Senior Admin and Data Center Manager Amdocs - Morrisville, NC - November 1996 to June 2014 Positions held: OpenVMS System Manager Group Leader, Senior UNIX Admin and Data Center Manager

• System admin/group leader of system team tasked to install and manage 100+ HPUX 11i servers, nPars, vPars, VM's and in single partition configuration. Hardware included BL860c, BL870c i2, BL890c i2, rx26xx, rx3600, rx4640, rx8620 and rx8640's. These servers were split into production, QA, test and development and DR servers.

• Install and maintain Command View on the SMA's to manage the 22x EVA storage enclosures. Design disk groups; generate usage reports using SSSU commands. Setup business copies for oracle databases.

• Work with operational team to install and manage the Tivoli System Management suite to manage and schedule the operational and backup jobs.

• Work within a team to setup a DR site. Using two primary data centers, the team was tasked with setting up procedures to have each site the DR site for the other.

• Design and program numerous UNIX scripts in conjunction with XYMON, to manage and monitor UNIX systems.

• Work with HP, install and monitor using SIM, HPCC, Onboard Administrator. • Build and manage the ignite backups on the clients and servers. • Create and manage the Samba and NFS shares. • Regularly run SWA for the installation of patches and F/W updates while monitoring system

performance. Major patch releases were implemented bi-annualy. • Group lead in an OpenVMS environment migration project to an HPUX environment. Over an 18

month period I led my team to setup new servers, network connections, tape and disk storage replacing old h/w at two different sites. Technical adviser to the software developers during installation of new programs. To migrate from the OpenVMS servers to UNIX servers, my team and I collaborated with Oracle DBA's installing Oracle databases and their storage and backup procedures.

• System manager/group leader with OpenVMS VAX- and Alphaservers in cluster and standalone configurations, NT workstations, SAN HSV, HSJ/HSZ/HSG storage controllers

• Design and program numerous Macro and DCL programs to monitor OpenVMS systems and alert on any issues.

• Design, program and maintain DCL and shell scripting to daily check the EVA and HSG disk and tape usage in the data center.

• Design, program and maintain the backup commands, using SLS/ABS and Data Protector, SQL and DCL to perform and check the System, Hot and Cold backups for Oracle databases and system disks. Upgrade backup commands after the upgrade to ABS.

• Management of all batch and print queues. • Administer user access and create user accounts for OpenVMS and UNIX systems.

• Design, build and document the terminal servers and cabling for the console managing system, which handles 70+ HSJ/HSZ/HSG's, OpenVMS Alpha and VAX servers.

• Maintain SOX standards and meet regularly with internal and external SOX auditors. • Supervise work assignments and budget administration of a 21-employee data center. • Perform formal evaluations of the Data Center members. • Coordination of procedures between the data center teams, end users, testers and developers. • Create and maintain Project Plans using Microsoft Project.

Senior System Manager US Postal Service - Raleigh, NC - September 1995 to November 1996 • Senior system manager supporting servers in 20 states. • Troubleshoot user access, printer and performance issues that include testing and accepting

software. • Design, create, and implement Macro and DCL programs to check remote sites for looping

processes. • Install and setup hardware and software for all new system managers. • Install and implement an AlphaServer and CD Jukebox to collect and archive performance data

from 85 remote sites. • Create a System Management Handbook.

Senior System Manager Multisystems, Inc - Utrecht, NL - February 1992 to August 1995 • Work as a senior system manager through Multisystems at client sites. • Build new environments to test and accept new and revised system and application software

including test scripts and routines. • Design, create, and implement all the needed DCL, Pascal and MACRO programs to manage the

user environments, while confined to a captive account using menus. • Define naming conventions for nodes, namespaces, logical names, print and batch queues. • Manage and report on all performance findings. • Create a system manager handbook in English and Dutch.
