Being an IXL Math Star Can Really “Add Up”... Beginning this month, we will be celebrating our students' use of the computer-based IXL Math program in first grade through fifth grade. More specifically, we are looking to see the level of mastery each student is reaching when it comes to grade level as well as above grade level mathematics skills. Students who reach the highest level of skills mastery each month will be highlighted on the morning or afternoon announcements as well as posted on an IXL Math Stars board in the school. There will be lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy including Xtreme gaming fun for all ages and programs designed to inspire kids and families to live a more active and healthy lifestyle. Wednesday, Nov. 18th 8:15am - 11:30am Parents, are looking for volunteers to share information about their career with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade stu- dents on Career Day. Volunteers will explain their career, how they came to be involved in their career and what the requirements are (degrees, certifications, etc.). You will also share the skills needed for your career and what subject areas in school are used the most (math, reading, art, science, etc.). You can bring tools, props, work samples to help explain what you do.
