Special NAPPS Meeting- North Atlanta High School Stellar Seniors Showcase on April 27th at 12 pm You are invited to join us for our most popular meeting of the year: A gathering featuring 20 of NAHS' best and brightest seniors. It promises to be a diverse and talented group that will showcase the menu of offerings at NAHS including IB, AP, Work Based Learning, Arts, Sports, Dual Enrollment and more. All feeder ele-mentary schools as well as newcomers to APS and our cluster will be represented with students ranging from acceptances to Ivy League schools to play-ing college sports to locally-based programs and more! The meeting will be held on the NAHS Terrace near the Gym, 4111 Northside Pkwy. Bring a lunch– dessert and drinks provided by our host school. "The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia" Movie Screening April 27th: 6:30-8 pm at Sutton 6th Grade Campus Sutton will host a screening of the HBO Film "The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia", followed by a discussion led by psychologist Judy Wolman, PhD at Sutton's 6th Grade Campus (4360 Powers Ferry Road). This will be followed by a meeting with the 5th Graders in the cafeteria at 12:50 pm; parents are also encouraged to attend the session with the students! Come watch The Sutton Theater come alive with song, dance, comedy and drama on Friday and Saturday nights, April 29th and 30th, when the incredible talent of nearly 70 Sutton students will be on display in the 26th Annual Sutton Showcase. We need YOU to make this event a success. Pike Offering Free Ladybugs this weekend… Bring yours to our Learning Gardens! Pike Nursery is giving away free ladybugs this weekend with purchase. Pick up a pack and bring to school on Monday to be released in our school gardens—help us fight pests the natural way! Individual Pictures Order Deadline: Friday, May 6th: Individual spring pictures were sent home this week. The deadline to pay or return the package to the school is Friday, May 6, 2016. If you would like to pay online, please go to strawbridge.net and enter our school code 1056. Time for the Peachtree Junior Road Race: May 14th The Peachtree Junior is an event for kids of all ages! The event, held at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, will feature a 3K fun run for kids ages 7-14, a 1/2K for ages 5-9 and 50m dash for ages 6 & under. The event is designed to offer kids the experience, excitement and prestige of the AJC Peachtree Road Race under safe conditions and without the pressures of competition. After completing Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia Peachtree Junior, participants are invited to enjoy a post-race festival on the Active Oval. Kids can participate in a kid-friendly decathlon featuring our special guest, 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist Dan O'Brien. More details coming soon!
