Introduction Google Apps Message Encryption (GAME) is an email encryption service for Google Apps customers. Designed by

ZixCorp at the request of Google, GAME provides secure email to Google Apps users communicating outside Google’s

secure cloud to all other email users.

This training document describes how to use the GAME Self-Service Portal to set up your GAME service. A short video of these procedures can be viewed at this link: GAME Resource Center

If your message recipients have GAME or Zix email encryption, emails are automatically decrypted and received

transparently, without the need for passwords or extra steps. For receivers who do not have GAME or Zix email

encryption, GAME offers two different delivery methods – a pull and a push technology.

1. The pull method (Portal Delivery) provides a secure portal that can be branded and integrated into your

corporate portal.

2. The push method (Inbox Delivery) provides secure direct-to-inbox delivery

After you submit your delivery method preferences to us, the next step is to use the Google Admin Console to (a)

configure email encryption rules and (b) download the GAME Admin Tool to create a white list of users. Those steps are

described in the GAME Quick Start Guide.

Together, these 2 steps ensure your recipients will receive encrypted email messages either transparently or via the

push or pull method of your choice.

GAME Self-Service Portal The GAME Self-Service Portal (SSP) is used by GAME customers to:

1. Provide the full list of customer domains that require email encryption

2. Provide an email support address

3. Select a push or pull delivery method that can send encrypted email to recipients not using GAME or Zix email

encryption *

4. Select default or custom branding and security preferences that recipients see when they pick up or open an

encrypted message

* Transparent message delivery occurs when the receiver is already using GAME or Zix email encryption. These

recipients do not use the push or pull delivery method cited above. They receive encrypted email transparently without

the need for passwords or extra steps.

Welcome Letter Once you have purchased GAME from a Google sales representative or a Google for Work Partner, Zix receives your

order request and sets up your GAME SSP account information. The GAME SSP then automatically sends you a welcome

letter, similar to the following, to help you get started.

4

GAME SSP Sign in Page The welcome letter contains a link to the GAME SSP sign in page, your sign in credentials and the sign in instructions:

https://game-encrypt-portal.com

5

Order and Configuration Pages

Order Information Page After signing in, the Order Information page appears. Select Order Status to continue.

6

Order Details Page Selecting Order Status from the menu bar routes you to the Order Details page. This page contains your customer order

information. Order details were provided by Google. Select (Show All) to see more data. Select (Show Less) to hide the

details. To begin setting up your service configuration, select Configure Service.

7

Service Configuration Page Selecting Configure Service from the Order Details page routes you to the Service Configuration tab. The Service

Configuration tab contains order data on the right and configuration steps on the left.

Default Google Branding with Portal Delivery There are 4 basic steps required to establish the delivery method for your recipients. The fastest method for setting up

your service is to select all the default options and none of the advanced settings. This section illustrates the simplest

approach to selecting your service configuration.

Add Email Domains (Optional) First, we need a full list of your company domains that require email encryption. If the domain we received on your

order is the only one that requires encryption, move on to Step 2.

8

If you have other email domains, add them before advancing to Step 2.

Provide Customer Support Email Address Step 2 requires you to provide a customer support email address so message recipients can contact you.

If you do not enter a Customer Support Email Address, you will receive this error message:

Select Delivery Option Step 3 asks you if you prefer Portal Delivery or Inbox Delivery. The majority of GAME customers prefer Portal Delivery.

The Portal Delivery method provides a secure portal for delivering sensitive information to customers and business

partners. It can be branded and integrated into your company’s portal. Its mobile-friendly design enables seamless

access from a desktop to any mobile device.

The Inbox Delivery method delivers encrypted email directly to user inboxes through a secure attachment.

9

Press the information button to reveal the explanation of each delivery option. Press the information button

again to close the text box.

Select Branding Step 4 asks you to select default Google branding or custom branding. The GAME SSP assumes you want default Google

branding unless you select No.

Press the information button for a further explanation of default and custom branding.

10

After you confirm your domain name, supply a support email address, accept Portal Delivery and select Google

Branding, there are only 3 more steps to complete the set up process.

1. First, select Save and Review to review default settings you have chosen:

11

2. Second, select Save and Preview Branding to review the default Google images.

Review the default branding settings on the Preview Branding page.

3. If you are satisfied with the default settings, the third and final step is to select Save and Approve.

12

Successful Submission Upon successful submission, a Congratulations message appears.

Order status changes from In Progress to Submitted.

The ZixCorp GAME Team is notified that you submitted your configuration request.

You will be contacted by a ZixCorp GAME Deployment Specialist. After Zix obtains your company domains and

configuration settings, you can use the Google Admin Tool to set up your white list of users.

Interim Saves If you are unable to complete the service configuration in one sitting, the GAME SSP saves the work you have completed

up through the first save. For example, if you added a second domain and provided a customer support email address,

these settings would be saved. The order status changes from New to In Progress.

Contacting Members of the ZixCorp GAME Team ZixCorp GAME Customer Support Team: If you have questions about service set-up, contact ZixCorp GAME Customer

Support by calling 888-576-4949 or sending an email to [email protected]. A ticket will be created and the

appropriate team member will respond to you.

13

ZixCorp GAME Deployment Specialist: You also have the option to send an email via the GAME portal. Use the

‘Notification to Zix’ text box on the upper right side of the Service Configuration Page. A sample question is illustrated

below. Your question is sent to a ZixCorp GAME Deployment Specialist who will respond to you after receipt.

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions Navigating to the FAQs page in the GAME SSP is another option you can use to learn more about configuring your

service. Select FAQs from the top menu bar.

Inbox Delivery You can choose Default Google Branding with Inbox Delivery instead of Portal Delivery. At step 3, select Inbox Delivery

instead of Portal Delivery. The remaining configuration steps are identical to those used for Default Google Branding

with Portal Delivery.

14

Custom Branding Options There are 4 custom options available:

1. Custom Portal Delivery – Standard branding and security settings

2. Custom Portal Delivery – Advanced branding and security settings

3. Custom Inbox Delivery – Standard (without 3 advanced fields)

4. Custom Inbox Delivery – Advanced (with 3 advanced fields)

Requesting custom branding means that email sent using Portal Delivery or Inbox Delivery display the look you chose

based on a variety of options available for you.

Configuration options for Portal Delivery are either Standard or Advanced:

STANDARD

a) Provide an image for your portal banner (1200 x 130 pixels in .JPG or .GIF format)

b) Provide an image for your mobile banner (300 x 35 pixels in .JPG or .GIF format)

c) Modify one or more of the default password settings

ADVANCED

Provide an image for your footer banner (185 x 60 pixels in .JPG or .GIF format)

Provide a larger image for an alternate banner image (1200 x 300 pixels in .JPG or .GIF format)

Modify or accept defaults for message expiration settings

Modify or accept defaults for additional password settings

Enable Multi-Language support

Standard Configuration Options: Portal Delivery

To initiate standard configuration, select No at Step 4.

15

Top Banner Images Selecting No at Step 4 causes the page to change. You are prompted to provide TWO banner images.

This is an example of custom images being selected.

Modify Password Defaults After you provide custom images, you are prompted to accept or alter the default settings for password rules. Choose

the password requirements you want your recipients to follow when creating their password.

After you complete this step, you can either:

1. View Advanced Configuration Options to further customize your service; OR

2. Select Save and Review to complete the process as described in Successful Completion

16

y

Advanced Configuration Options: Portal Delivery

If you select View Advanced Configuration Options, you can either:

1. Hide Advanced Configuration Options to return to the Standard Configuration settings; OR

2. Add Footer Banner images and select additional custom settings

Footer Banner Options To continue with Advanced Configuration Options, choose an image to be used for your portal’s footer banner image. If

desired, you can also provide a larger image as an alternate banner image.

17

Here is an example of custom images selected for a portal’s footer and alternate banner.

Footer Text and Colors Next, accept or modify the default values for Banner URL Link, Footer Text or Footer Image URL Link.

Then choose your custom Footer Background Color, Footer Text Color and Footer URL Color.

1. The Footer Background’s default color is f2f2f2 (white)

2. The Footer Text’s default color is #00000 (black)

3. The Footer URL’s default color is #000ff (blue)

When you click on any of the 3 color boxes, a color picker appears to help you with your selection.

The color picker appears with a rainbow scale. Move the scale up or down to the desired color range. Grab the lower corner of the square with your mouse; drag the picker to your preferred color. Select Enter. Do this for each color you want to change.

18

Your choices will cause the text and background colors to be rendered in the selected color.

Note: if you have chosen to use a Footer Banner image, you may want to change the Footer Background Color to match that of your Footer Banner image. You may also want to update the Footer Text Color to ensure that it stands out against the Footer Background Color.

Message Expiration Options Next, accept the default message expiration settings or select alternate values from the drop downs. You can choose

whether senders or recipients or both get notified that their message will soon expire.

Additional Password Options You can choose alternate password security options. Password Expiration Periods must be increments of 30. Valid

options are 30 to 180 days. The default is 60 days.

19

Language Options You can enable Multi-Language support if you require your GAME service to display in more than one language.

When you select YES, you are prompted to select a Default Language.

20

If you have not selected to use Multi-language the final step for Language Options is to accept or modify the default

values for Welcome Line, Login Page Instructions, Warning/Disclaimer Message and Registration Page Instruction Line.

Preview Background and Font Colors After you select your Standard or Advanced Configuration settings, you have an opportunity to preview your background

and font colors. This gives you an opportunity to see how the colors will be rendered on the portal. You can make

adjustments until you are satisfied with the appearance.

21

Advanced Configuration Options: Inbox Delivery If you select Inbox Delivery at Step 3 and you want to take advantage of the advanced settings available in this delivery

option, be certain to select No in Step 4. You are prompted to select a portal banner image other than the default

Google image.

22

Next, you are prompted to choose from the advanced settings which are limited to 3 options: Forward Option, Password

Confirmation Activation and Multi-Language. There is no provision for a mobile banner image or a footer banner.

Instructions for Multi-Language are identical to those provided for Portal Delivery.

Forward Option indicates whether or not the recipient is allowed to forward a secure message.

Password Confirmation Activation can be set to Automatic or Manual. The default is Automatic.

Order and Customer Information On the right side of the Service Confirmation Tab, order and customer information is displayed. This data was supplied

by Google. If you want to request changes to the order data, contact your Google sales representative or Google

23

channel partner. If you want to change demographic or contact data, you can do so in the Customer section of the

GAME SSP.

To change demographic information for your company or to add, change and delete contacts, select Customer List from the menu.

24

When you select your company name, a Customer Demographics page appears. From here, you can choose one of four

actions:

1. Select edit customer information to change your company name or address.

2. Select Add New Contact to add to the existing list of contacts.

3. Select the pencil icon to change an existing contact.

4. Select the trash can icon to delete a contact.

Add a Contact If you want additional employees to have access to the GAME SSP, you can add new contacts to your account. Adding a

contact triggers the issuance of a Welcome Letter to the newly authorized employee at your company. Select Customer

List. From the Customer Demographics Page, select Add New Contact. A page opens up for you to fill in the information.

You can add an optional note as shown in the example below.

After you select submit, you receive a confirmation message.

The new contact receives a welcome letter as well. The welcome letter contains a link to the GAME SSP sign in page

(https://game-encrypt-portal.com) along with sign in credentials and sign in instructions.

25

Notifications GAME SSP tracks the correspondence sent to customers and received (within the SSP) from GAME customers.

In the Notifications section, you can select from the list of messages to view the actual notification. The example below

shows a Service Configuration Confirmation notification.

Here is an example of a reminder notification.
