GAL FLOW STI
Our R & D Department has developed a novel METALLIC FLUX COMPOUND to givebright finish to the galvanized steel & to increase the fluidity of molten Zinc. Theaddition of this compound can replace Aluminium, Zn-Al alloy addition to the moltenzinc. It also reduces the Zinc ash & controls the coating.
Gal Flow STI will reduce ash formation by as much as 20% in general galvanizingplants & structural galvanizing plants.
This compound melts & liberates the metal leaving residues. In Batch galvanizingprocess, this compound is to be added to the molten zinc bath at the beginning of the
shift or during recess time / idle time. The frequency of addition is every 4 hours. The
quantity to be added is about 1.5kgs to 2.5kgs every 4 hours depending on the
production / surface area of Zinc bath. For a surface area of 10Mt X 1.5 Mt, 2kgs of
Gal Flow STI will be sufficient for 4 Hours.
Procedure for Addition of GAL FLOW STI:
Take approximately 2kgs of Gal Flow STI. Skim the Zinc ash in the bath & add this
compound all over the bath. After about 10 to 15 mins remove the oxide layer in the
bath with a skimming blade. Gal Flow STI melts & forms a minute layer on the molten
zinc reducing the ash formation. It also reduces the surface tension of the molten zinc
giving it better fluidity thus controlling the coating.
Advantages in a Nutshell:
1. It increases the fluidity of Zinc thus reducing the coating & improves uniformity.
2. It forms a minute layer over molten zinc thus reducing the ash formation.
3. It increases the surface finish/appearance of galvanized steel.
4. It will replace the Aluminium alloy addition/ Zn-Al alloy addition to the bath.
5. It reduces the ash formation by 20 %.
6. Optimum use of Zinc.
