HEXAGONAL WOVEN AND SQUARE WELDMESHHexagonal wovenmesh is the perfect product for rockfall netting and to coverlarge areas of river mattresses quickly.
The mesh is made of high strength, durable material. Two options are available – Class A Galvanised or PVC
coated. The mesh size is 80×100mm hexagonal mesh type with 2.7mm mesh wire and 3.4mm diameter
salvage wire along the mesh roll edging. We normally also provide the 2.2mm binding wire for lacing rolls
together along the common edge.
Roll sizes available – 2 metres wide x 50m long (100m2)
Square weldmesh is available in rolls of 2.1 x 30m – with mesh aperture of 50 x 50mm and wire diameter of
3.00mm, Class A Galvanised only.

GABIONS AND RIVER MATTRESSESGabions are wire mesh boxes, containers or baskets filled with rock to prevent soilerosion and to retain or contain soil particles.
Gabions and geotextiles are normally used together to reduce water velocities and re-capture river bed sediment in streams.
Flat Gabions, called River Mattresses are widely used in river courses where soil erosion is a problem over a large flat or
sloped area needing protection against soil loss or scour. They are used mostly in the civil engineering industry especially in
the construction of roadway drainage structures, however recently due to their environmental benefits are being used in many
other applications and industries.
We manufacture Class A Galvanised or with an additional PVC coating, hexagonal type woven wire mesh Gabion materials.
The woven mesh has a high tensile strength at the same time having a high compressive strength when filled with suitable
un-weathered rock. Our materials are locally produced and quality assured and are used in a wide range of applications.

THE GARDEN GABIONThe smaller Garden Gabion can be used at home for terracing and retaining walls,or internal feature/decorative walls.
Smaller than the convention Gabions require less rock infill.
Quicker to infill than a large Gabion.
Ideal for Gabion terraces, and feature walls.
Can be filled with local rock and building rubble.
Useful for Gabion revetment walls needing less rock.
Faster to install a smaller Gabion basket.
All Gabion mesh provides flexibility, and is supplied packed flat for erection and filling on-site. The small Gabion can
be filled with glass bottles, rock, timber logs, building rubble, roof tiles or locally available topsoil. This soil filled basket
would then require the Coir fibre blanket internally along all sides to prevent the loss of soil, lifespan of coir is 3-4
years depending on the local climate.
SAUSAGE GABIONThis is an extremely useful product for founding Gabion structures where you mightnormally consider using loose rock.
Cheaper and quicker to fill than a standard Gabion.
More flexible and fits nicely into confined areas quickly.
Rapid assembly for damaged river sites.
Highly durable made with PVC coating, to prevent mesh corrosion.
Prevents erosion of soil and any rock movement away from area needing protection.
Requires less rock than a standard sized Gabion basket.
The sausage Gabion is manufactured from a hexagonal woven mesh panel, 80 x 100 x 2.7mm and rolled into a sausage
on-site and filled with rock to 75% capacity and laced together with binding wire.
Product size – 2m long x 0.65m diameter – 0.85m3 or 1 ton of rock required.

GAB – TAIL SYSTEMThe Gab – Tail is a reinforced soil system,with Gabion unit facing, together with anextended hexagonal woven mesh tail,which extends back into the soil.
To reduce the time to build a fill embankment structure.
To reduce the volume of rock required to fill a retaining wall.
In a fill situation where you need a retaining wall erected.
Build the wall quickly and save on the overall structure cost.
Generally when your Gabion structure is higher than 4 meters,
and built in a fill (backfill) situation, the reinforced Gabion soil
system becomes more economical and faster to install.
The external Gabion baskets facing provide the front internal
stability to the overall structure. The mesh tails improve the
lateral shear resistance (tensile strength of the soil) providing
improved overall stability.
GABION BARRIER DEFENCE CELLSCan be used in a wide variety of conditionsi.e. flood/ weather retaining walls,construction or defence barriers in militarysitutations.

GABION ROCKSQuality Gabion baskets require quality rock infill.
We can offer suitable rock supply depending on the site for Gabion installation, often the rock supplier
does not have rock stockpiled and we do try to provide the necessary information for obtaining the
material. We also offer expert advice regarding the best rock specifications for your particular
requirement.
The rock we recommend must be un-weathered and solid without flaking or weathering evident. The
correct size to be used must be 100-250mm minimum size for Gabions (1m high baskets).
With river mattresses the rock size is also 100-2/3 the mattress thickness so that at least two layers of
rock can be used in the mattress layer thickness.
Small rock fragments must not be used on the surface of either Gabions or mattresses in river courses
as the fine material will be washed away in high water flows.
