Matthew 5: 1-12WORD OF GODThe Beatitudes1. Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor, the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.2. Happy are those who mourn, God will comfort them. 3. Happy are those who are humble, they will receive what God has promised. 4. Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires, God will satisfy them. The Beatitudes5. Happy are those who are merciful to others, God will be merciful to them. 6. Happy are the pure in heart, they shall see God. 7. Happy are those who work for peace, God will call them his children. 8. Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires, the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.The beatitudes are the values and attitudes of a true disciple of Christ.

They depict the personality of Jesus Christ and portray his charity (CCC 1716).

Therefore, when we follow the Beatitudes we become more like Christ who has given us love and peace in complete humility and poverty until he was crucified for our sake.We become blessed which means holy because Jesus transforms our hearts and gives us the grace to be faithful to His teachings.
