your spreadsheet.

Page 3: G042 - Lecture 16 Testing Your Spreadsheet Mr C Johnston ICT Teacher

Session Task

Complete your spreadsheet. Ensure it has: A range of functions and formula which allow statistical analysis Macros which help the user to input / process / present the data Graphs and charts which present findings of your statistical

analysis Screen shot evidence of any unobvious features used within

your spreadsheet e.g. Conditional Formatting

Testing Overview

You need to test your spreadsheet to ensure it works properly

You should document that your macros work however the focus of the testing needs to be that the formulae and functions work correctly.

Two ways of checking formula: Make a copy of your spreadsheet file and substitute data with

simple numbers which you can manually work out the answers for and compare with what the spreadsheet produces

Take screen shots / photos of using another method to calculate the answers using your data

Documenting Testing Tests need to be documented in a table:

To backup your testing you need to include screen shots to illustrate each test you carry out.

Session Task

Create a test plan which will test that all your functions and formulae work,

Use you test plan to show that your spreadsheet functions as it should do – ensure there is evidence to show this.

Final Task D Evidence

Print outs showing each of your sheets in colour with buttons on (will have to change properties of the button so it prints),

Print outs of each of your spreadsheets in formula mode so the moderator and I can see use of formula and functions. (press ctrl and key of left of 1),

Screen prints showing unobvious features used within your spreadsheet (conditional formatting etc.),

Print outs of the macro visual basic code (some annotation would help),

Completed test plan with evidence.
