Improved Process for Oracle Retail Documentation Corrections To more quickly address critical corrections to Oracle Retail documentation content, Oracle Retail documentation may be republished whenever a critical correction is

needed. For critical corrections, the republication of an Oracle Retail document may at times not be attached to a numbered software release; instead, the Oracle Retail document will simply be replaced on the Oracle Technology Network Web site, or, in the case of Data Models, to the applicable My Oracle Support Documentation container where they reside.

This process will prevent delays in making critical corrections available to customers. For the customer, it means that before you begin installation, you must verify that you have the most recent version of the Oracle Retail documentation set. Oracle Retail documentation is available on the Oracle Technology Network at the following URL:

    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/oracle-retail-100266.html

An updated version of the applicable Oracle Retail document is indicated by Oracle part number, as well as print date (month and year). An updated version uses the same part number, with a higher-numbered suffix. For example, part number E123456-02 is an updated version of a document with part number E123456-01.

If a more recent version of a document is available, that version supersedes all previous versions.

Oracle Retail Documentation on the Oracle Technology Network Oracle Retail product documentation is available on the following web site:

(Data Model documents are not available through Oracle Technology Network. You can obtain them through My Oracle Support.)

    Reports 7 - Labels

Overview This document is designed to give a ‘flavour’ of the potentials when generating stock and display labels.

If the label style you desire is not listed please speak to your implementation consultant.

Labels can be modified and tweaked using Crystal® in house or as a chargeable service provided by Oracle®.

Note: When presented with a date and time range to ensure the report includes all the data it is recommended that the start time is set to 00:00:00. This ensures all transactions

logged on the chosen date are included.

Labels Generated from the Menu Please note this document details the most common type of stock label produced by FRS. There are other formats of label spanning small accessory labels to large A5 sized labels designed for easy scanning in a warehouse scenario. Please discuss your label requirement with your implementation consultant.

Labels are generated either via a menu option or from within a specific application. The size, style and content of the label are label specific however labels can be changed by yourself (If you have crystal knowledge), or by Oracle® (please note this may be a chargeable activity)

Display Labels Display labels are design to offer a quality customer facing label suitable for showroom use. Labels can contain the promotional selling price where required. This document details standard offerings however retailer specific labels are possible.

There are two methods of generating display labels

    Standard Label Generation

This feature is used when the ADVANCED_DISPLAY_TICKETS application parameter

    is set to .

Searching for display stock is as per the advanced option, i.e. search using warehouse stock search and ticking the box associated with the stock item requiring a display label.

Once selected the print display label option will request the specification of a series of questions.

    Report selection criteria

    Question Response

Date Choose the date to be used for the label.

The date will be used to establish the price charged for the item on that date.

Special text A strap line or message line appearing below the selling price.

    Printer controls

Can produce the following output (A6)

Multiple tickets on a single page.

Please speak to your implementation consultant if you wish to have a variation of the standard display ticket designed / produced.

  • 11

    Advanced Label Generation

This feature uses the ADVANCED_DISPLAY_TICKET application parameter which

needs to be set to .

Display labels are available via the print display ticket on the side panel of the warehouse/stock search page.

    Stock list with selected items

To operate first select the stock items you wish to produce a display label for by ticking the A/N box alongside each item. This can span several pages, when selections are made from several pages a clear all button is displayed above the page numbers allowing clearance of the selection if desired.

    Advanced ticket options

    Data fields

    Field Comments

Pricing date This will be used to establish the price of the item as displayed on the label.

The system will automatically select the prevalent promotion on that date and charge accordingly.

Print sales inserts When ticked the system will produce a price only label which can be inserted into the display ticket thus revising the price without having to reprint the whole label.

Price shown Select from MRP or selling prices

Price legend Free format text used as the title on the label.

  • 12 Oracle Retail Furniture Retail System (FRS)

    Field Comments

Print one label per stock item

    Show option matrix

If ticked the routine will produce a matrix of other items in the range i.e. a matrix of ranges.

Print logo If ticked the label will contain the corporate logo.

Dependent upon the selections made a label similar to that shown below can be produced.

    Sales Inserts

The output is designed to produce 10 labels on the page in a 5x2 grid.

To get the most from this label care should be taken when creating your SKU to ensure the first question is the question you wish to have listed in the matrix.

The item picture is the same path but with the model number. Jpg filename.
