Introduction:

Students are taught basic clinical competencies related to nursing

care of adults that are utilized or delegated by the nurse to implement the

nursing process such as standard precautions, vital signs, hygiene,

transfer etc. Students gain competency by practicing skills in a

supportive and supervised environment in the fundamentals of nursing

lab.

Objectives

The Students will:

Perform Basic skills in a professional manner, utilizing awareness

of legal/ethical considerations

Apply effective therapeutic communication techniques during the

practice and performance of skills.

Provide and maintain a safe environment for the client during all

aspects of care.

Apply critical thinking techniques when presented with clinical

scenarios during practice and performance of skills.
