Perfectly located on Salamanca place, Irish Murphy’s has a long history of providing genuine and warm hospitality. We cater for many different functions including large parties, smaller get-together’s and even corporate meetings.

Thank you for asking us to help with your upcoming function or event. We are at your service and are confident we can tailor something to make your occasion a huge success.

Over the following pages you will find the range of spaces we have available, entertainment and food options. If there is something you’re after that you can’t find in the following pages, our Events planner will be happy to tailor your event to your exact liking.

Your space.The Johnny Fox Lounge

The Johnny Fox is private; including a private bar and a staff member to take care of your food and drink requirements. It is a perfect destination for group dining, birthdays, engagements, meetings, leaving dinners and Christmas parties. With room for 150 people standing, or 60 seated, the room is suitable for any size, from intimate gatherings to 21st parties.

The Fox Lounge can be furnished for a sit down banquet, cocktail party or smaller meeting, with plenty of room for everyone.Our music system is capable of outputting AUX cord compatible devices only.

Players Room

The Players Room is on the corner of Salamanca Place and Gladstone Street. It is a perfect destination for sporting groups, birthdays, engagements and parties of any kind. With room for 150 people standing, it is suitable for any event, from intimate gatherings to 21st parties.

The Player’s Room comes fully equipped with a stage, a PA for live entertainment, a projector and 107” screen with FOX sports channels, making it also ideal for a smaller meeting or sporting group. Our music system is capable of outputting our in-house music or supplying massive quality sounds for a full band or DJ.

Dining

Irish Murphy’s offers outstanding local pub food. Our chefs are passionate about food, flavours and presentation, with a focus on fresh, quality and local produce. As Irish tradition, our food is warm and hearty, with an option for everyone (GF, Vegetarian and Vegan friendly.)

We cater for everything from quiet and intimate meals to casual group tables in front of your favourite sport on the big screen.

Cocktail Party

A party is as fun as you make it! With the right atmosphere, you’re half way there. Play the music softly or loud, background or live entertainment. Decorate with soft touches or a theme.

Platters are available during the evening, with options ranging from bite sized finger food to fabulous tapas style treats.

Entertainment

If you require any form of entertainment we are happy to source this for you at no finders fee, the cost of the entertainers will be charged to your final account. We employ Tasmania’s best live entertainers on a weekly basis so we can find you the best talent at a safe rate, for any occassion!

Group Events

The Johnny Fox room is perfect for group events. We can provide everything required for food, beverage and sound, and tailor the room to your preference

Our kitchen team can tailor a menu to suit whatever function or crowd you have in mind. We offer a range of styles for your next function including:

Alternate Drop Set Menu

Perfect for the budget weary or time poor, an alternate drop menu is the quickest to be delivered to your table, giving your more time to party afterwards!

For the Table

A selection of food, presented on large platters and set in the middle of the table for you to help yourself. Great for informal gatherings, family and friends.

Menu A La Carte

Select a series of dishes to suit you, our chefs will prepare and beautifully plate to order.

Any food intolerances, just ask! We can alter most things to suit.

Irish Murphy’s Platters

All of our platters are bite size portions designed to feed 10 people. If there is something you would pre-fer to have please let us know, we are happy to ask our kitchen staff. We also cater for most dietary needs. Please let us know and we will provide you with options.

Terms & Conditions

Tentative BookingsTo give you the opportunity to plan your function, we are pleased to hold a tentative booking on your preferred date.

ConfirmationTo confirm bookings we require a $100 deposit within 14 days of your enquiry. All bookings will be confirmed when the required deposit and signed forms are received. If the deposit is not received within these 14 days we may release the date to other prospective clients.

Final Numbers & PaymentWe would appreciate an estimate of your guest numbers 14 days prior to your function. Any finger food orders must be placed 14 days prior to the function date. Any subsequent charges are payable at the conclusion of the function.

CancellationShould your function be cancelled within 7 days of the function date all booking fees, bonds and deposits shall remain the property of Irish Murphy’s Hobart.

Responsible Service of AlcoholAll staff at Irish Murphy’s Hobart are trained in the “Responsible Service of Alcohol” and may, by law, refuse to serve alcohol to any person that is deemed to be intoxicated.

DamageOrganizers are financially responsible for any loss sustained to the venue including damage to the premises, its fittings, equipment and grounds. The organizers of the function are also responsible for any damage caused by their guests, outside contractors or agents, prior to, during, or after the event.

Loss of PropertyIrish Murphy’s Hobart will not accept any responsibility for any loss of property left on the premises prior to, during, or after the function. This responsibility lies solely with the client.

SecurityIrish Murphy’s Hobart reserves the right, without liability, to exclude or manage patrons who breach any policy’s or legal responsibilities whilst on, or prior to entering our venue. We also provide suchpersonnel to ensure your safety and first aid needs are met.
