Question for the kids: What other subjects could you create a fortune teller game for?
Materials Needed:• Paper
• Scissors
• Pencil or pen
Instructions:
• Choose a number on the outside flap. Then, pick a letter from the inside flaps. Finally reveal the second number of the equation. The first person to yell the answer gets 1 point! 5 points wins!

Fortune Teller Speed Facts
Duration: 5+ minutes Participants: 1+
Fold down to top corner to the opposite edge. Do the same with the other corner.

Cut the extra strip below the triangle. Then, open the paper.

Fold each corner of the paper to the center of the square.
Flip the paper over and fold each corner into the square.

Flip the paper again, fold in half both ways. Put your fingers under the flaps and pinch it in!

Write numbers on the flaps on the outside of the fortune teller.

Then, write letters on the inside flaps.
Finally, write numbers underneath the flap with the letters.

Question for the kids: What is a citizen scientist? What observations did you make while looking for Bumble Bees? How many Bumble Bee species can you find?
Instructions:
• Becoming a Citizen Scientist for Bumble Bee Watch is a great way to participate in 4-H service-learning and science at home.
• To start, make observations and capture photos of bumble bees found in and around your neighborhood. Learn how to identify & take photos of bumble bees at: bumblebeewatch.org
• Sharing your data will help scientists learn about the needs of bees and locate rare bees.
Did you know? A Citizen Scientist is a community volunteer who helps collect scientific data for a team project with professional scientists. All ages can participate, including parents!

Mindfulness JarDuration: 10 minutes Participants: 1+
Materials Needed:• Clear jar or other container
with a tight fitting lid
• Glitter-3 colors
• Glycerin (optional)
Question for the kids: Imagine the glitter represents our thoughts, feelings, and urges. When someone shakes them around, what happens to them?
Instructions:
• Fill your jar with water (use glycerin for more effects).
• The three glitter colors represent your feelings, your thoughts and your urges.
• Add a few pinches of the glitter to the jar.
• Seal the jar tightly.
• Shake the jar and watch the colors mix.
Parent Tip:
Use this jar as
a timer for other
activities like
reading time.
Each color represents your feelings, thoughts and urges. Watch how they mix together when you shake the jar. When you are feeling like you need a break, shake your jar and watch your feelings, urges, and thoughts settle in the bottom of the jar while taking deep breaths.
*Food coloring in oil, beads or plastic blocks work as alternates

Food Hero Whole Wheat
Yogurt RollsIngredients:
• 1 1⁄2 cups whole wheat flour
• 1 3⁄4 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 1⁄4 cups of low-fat plain yogurt
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
2. Stir flour, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl. Add yogurt to the center and stir until a dough forms.
3. Divide dough into 10 equal sized balls. Dust hands with flour and roll each ball lightly until surface is smoothed.
4. Place on baking sheet and flatten each ball to ½ inch thick.
5. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until light golden brown. Serve warm with a soup or salad.

Héroe de Alimentos Rollos
de Trigo Integral con Yogur
Ingredientes:
• 1 1⁄2 tazade harina de trigo integral
• 1 3⁄4 cucharadita de bicarbonato de soda
• 1 cucharadita de sal
• 1 1⁄4 tazade yogur sin sabor bajo en grasa
Instrucciones:
1. Precaliente el horno a 450 grados F.
2. Mezcle la harina, el bicarbonato de soda, y la sal juntos en un tazón grande. Añada el yogur al centro y mezclehasta que se forme una masa.
3. Divida la masa en 10 bolas de tamaño uniforme. Cubra las manos con harina y estire cada bola ligeramente hasta que se alisa la superficie.
4. Coloque en una bandeja para hornear y aplaste cada bola a un grosor de ½ pulgada.
5. Hornee por 10 a 15 minutos, hasta que queden ligeramente dorados. Sirva caliente con una sopa o ensalada
