Three Modes for User FlexibilityThe Erase mode of the PD-8700F features a degaussingforce of 10,000 gauss and a large tray size to accommo-date today’s high coercivity media as well as older, largersized media. Stored energy is quickly released toproduce short, focused erasing fields that penetratethrough the media housing, changing the magneticproperties contained on the data disk platters or tape.

The Destruction mode of the PD-8700F is designed tophysically disable the drive or data cartridge, preventingdata from being recovered. The physical destructionvisibly identifies media that has been properly sanitized.It uses spikes to safely puncture the media withoutcreating harmful dust and debris.

The Auto mode activates both the erase mode anddestruction mode in sequence. The main control panelwill indicate the status and operation progress. Automode takes a total of two minutes to finish.
