Meghan Rutledge‘s rapid ascent

Having won the silver medal at the X Games in Los Angeles, Australian Meghan Rutledge followed up this success with a first place finish in the European Motocross Grand Prix and second place in the 2013 Women’s World Championship. She only joined the Bud Racing Kawasaki French team in June, but at 18 this young rider has shown that she has plenty more to give!

Dylan Ferrandis reaches new heights

Having chalked up a second place finish at the Motocross GP in the Netherlands, the Bud Racing Kawasaki team rider has once again cemented his name among the top contenders. The FUCHS-sponsored team have had a great year with success both on the track (taking the title at the “Internationaux de France” and finishing second at the French GP) and with the media. Dylan now has 11,316 fans on Facebook; the team video has been watched by more than a million; the US X Games, featuring the FUCHS logo, have more than 1,462,400 YouTube hits and 47 articles about the team have appeared in specialist publications. What’s more, the French GP was broad-cast live in 38 countries and watched by 2.3 million viewers. Congratulations to both Dylan and the communications team!

podium in the Kocaeli Rally The fourth race of the 2013 Turkish Rally Championship -

tember with a special spectators leg. This challenging race,

the first of the 2013 Championship that took place on a dirt

track after three races on asphalt tracks covered 256 km, 98

km of which were a special leg. Mehmet Pinarbasi/Erhan

Arikan from the FUCHS-sponsored Pinarbasi Team success-

fully finished on their Mitsubishi Evo 9 in fourth place in

category N and seventh in the general rankings among the

27 vehicles that had participated in the rally.

PORTUGAL

FUCHS brilliantly represented in Porto – Circuito da Boavista Circuito da Boavista is a race on a city circuit taking place in Porto every two years. Initiated in 1931 it celebrated a glorious revival in 2005 after many years of interruption. Approximately 220,000 spectators had come to the race track during the weekend. This year, João Paulo Campos Costa represented the FUCHS colors. He won the Formula Ford races with a 1973 Merlyn MK24, the same car with which he had won the Formula Ford French Championship in 2012. His son João Pedro Campos Costa, too, delivered a wonderful perform-ance in his first appearance at this event. He qualified in 19th place on a car, which had formerly been driven by his father and finished the race in tenth place. In the second race when he already knew the circuit he was faster and bolder and eager to reach the podium. Unfortunately, when he was in the lead, the engine overheated and the promising pilot had to give up. “This was a great weekend with an excellent media coverage and presentation of FUCHS. The event was broadcast live on the local TV channel Porto Canal. We look forward to the next race in 2015”, said Paul Cezanne, FUCHS LUBRIFI-CANTES, Unip.Lda.

McConnell Wins For Smiths Triumph At Cadwell Park

The Gloucester-based Smiths Racing Triumph team is celebrating their first win of the season after Billy McConnell took an impressive victory in round eight of the 2013 British Supersport Championship at Cadwell Park. This win marks the first on the team's new Triumph Daytona 675R machine and follows a second place finish for McConnell at Oulton Park two weeks ago and was achieved in front of a record bank holiday crowd at the Lincolnshire track. FUCHS Silkolene sponsors McConnell and team-mate Glen Rich-ards, the defending British Champion. Despite falls and difficult races during the two rounds for the Australian duo, the two men showed im-mense talent for racing and delivered a good show for spectators. McConnell won the victory and has maintained fourth place in the series, while Richards remains seventh.

In the land of saints and wines, where FUCHS LUBRIFI-CANTI S.P.A.’s plant is situated, the International Vespa Rally gathered 1,200 colorful Vespa motor scooters. The drivers and entire families took the opportunity to stroll through the hills and enjoy the products typical of this region. FUCHS builds on its reputation in the European Autocross Elite On the first weekend in July the European Autocross Elite met again in the Mecca of autocross, which is undoubtedly the Stikovská ravine near Nová Paka in East Bohemia. Over 10,000 fans enthusiastically cheered 104 competitors present at this event. It was a great show. The race track was very well prepared and allowed the drivers to deliver maximum performance. These drivers competed in four divisions. At the end of the spectacular races which pushed the competitors to their limits and thrilled the audience, Václav Tríska (CZE) won the Junior Buggy division. In the Touring Division Autocross the most experienced home matador Václav Fejfar domi-nated. John Lagodny (LUX) won in the Buggy division up to 1600cc and Terry Gallaghan (NLD) gained victory in the Royal Division Super Buggy Racing. “The FUCHS brand was present throughout the circuit with banners, drums and flags, which were particularly noticed by the spectators but also by the teams, professionals and me-dia attending the event”, explains FUCHS Engineer, Pavel Broz.

Congratulations, Markus Kollenz The Int. Rupert Hollaus Memory Race organized by Wolf-gang Stropek took place on 3 - 4 August at the Red Bull Ring. It was about the 10th repetition of this event. This year, the 71-year-old Italian Ciacomo Agostini came to Styria and brought with him the only existing 350cc six-cylinder MV Agusta and provided a true feast for the ears. Famous, former motorsport champions gathered on occasion of this event, which is named after Rupert Hollaus, the first Austrian motorsport world champion who died during the qualifying in Monza in 1954. Among the participants are the Swiss multiple Grand Prix winner Bruno Kneubuehler, the former MZ factory rider, Heinz Rosner and Supersport World Cup winner and ten times Superbike World Championship race win-ner, Fabrizio Pirovano. Markus Kollenz, application engineer of FUCHS AUSTRIA SCHMIERSTOFFE G.E.S. M.B.H., participated in the 750cc class on a GP bike from 1974, a Yamaha TZ 750 and won second place in the main race.
