Standard FRP Transit Cases - Many Sizes, Limited Customization – FRP – Fiberglass Reinforced Thermoset Composite cases are available in a wide range of standard sizes for military and industrial applications. FRP composite cases are the most durable custom military transit cases and enclosures anywhere. Since 1960, FRP composite cases have repeatedly proven their superiority in providing protection for an immense variety of military and commercial equipment.

Unlimited Range of Hardware and Options – ECS maintains over 30,000 different items in inventory and has an impressive CAD/CAM machining capability for special parts. FRP cases can be molded with recesses for tote handles, casters, lifting handles, latches and other exterior hardware. Toteable FRP cases for electronic test sets can include molded-in EMI shielding and flanged extrusions for panel mounting equipment.

Extreme Equipment Weight Applications – Please review the ECS document titled: “FRP Composite Custom Cases - Product Features and Performance Highlights” for more information about FRP custom palletized containers, forklift handling features and extreme custom case designs that are available to accommodate and protect unusually heavy equipment.

Unlimited Range of Interior Options – Standard FRP transit cases can include a wide range of optional features and hardware to satisfy unique requirements. Hinged aluminum interior divider panels are frequently installed inside FRP cases to provide stowage areas for loose parts. Flanged closure extrusions with floating fasteners allow panel mounting of equipment. Louvered ventilation panels, recessed electrical connector panels and an unlimited number of types of interior brackets can be designed and installed in FRP transit cases.

Foam Cushions and Shock Mounts for Equipment Protection – Fabricated foam cushions are frequently used in FRP transit cases to contain individual pieces of equipment and to provide shock and vibration protection. ECS has sophisticated foam cushion design and manufacturing capabilities which include CAD/CAM controlled foam cutting machinery and water-jet foam cutting equipment. There are virtually no limits to the range of foam cushion materials or the shapes and sizes of fabricated foam cushions that can be manufactured by ECS. Shock mounts are not the most common form of shock and vibration control for standard transit cases, but ECS can install shock mounts and/or shock mounted equipment platforms inside any FRP transit case. Optional shock mount configurations and spring rates can be provided to support a broad range of equipment weights and equipment centers-of-gravity.

Fast Container Opening and Resealing – FRP transit cases are available with numerous latch styles, including externally mounted cam-action latches, recess mounted draw-pull latches and lever-action latches. All FRP latching solutions and extruded aluminum closure designs per-mit rapid opening of sealed cases and rapid reinstallation and resealing of covers. None of the ECS latch or closure designs requires the use of tools for opening or closing FRP containers or enclosures.

Hardware, Colors and Options – An unlimited variety of hardware is available, custom brackets and accessories can be supplied by ECS. Standard FRP transit cases can be manufactured in most colors, including MIL-STD-595 col-ors. Numerous options and accessories are available.

Military Grade – FRP transit composite cases exceed the requirements of military specifications for transportable cases. Performance verification testing to MIL-STD 810 is routinely performed at ECS Composites. Originally qualified by ECS in 1962 under the severe performance requirements of MIL-C-4150, FRP transit cases continue to evolve with enhanced materials and compression molding techniques to provide sophisticated container solutions for 21st Century applications.
