Department of Environmental Science• The Department of Environmental Science organized a National Seminar on

“Biofuel: Its Promises and Prospects in Fuel Security” (BIPAP-2011) on 24.02.2011, where Prof. S.P. Rath, Vice Chancellor, North Orissa University, Baripada and Prof. Hifjur Raheman of IIT, Kharagpur graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and as Key Note Speaker respectively.

• Department of Env. Sc. organized a seminar on “Role of Community Leadership in Water Harvesting and River Revival” on 27.7.2011 where Dr. Rajendra Singh, 2001 Ramon Magsaysay Award Winner and “Water Man” or “Jal Purush” of Rajasthan graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Department of Information and Communication TechnologyThe Department has organized a National Conference titled “Information and Knowledge Management (NCIKM 2011)” on 12 March 2011 jointly by the Department of Business Management, Fakir Mohan University, Balasore.Department of Population Studies• Department of Population Studies organised a National Seminar on Maternal

and Child Health Situation in Odisha on 25.02.2011• In collaboration with UNFPA, the department celebrated World AIDS Day

on 01.12.2011 and organized various activities in connection with creating awareness about HIV/ AIDS in different affiliated colleges of the university. Prof. A. B. Otta, Collector, Balasore and Dr. C. S. Nanda, Eminent Physician graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Chief Speaker respectively.
