With all that is going on in our nation, in the world, and in our churches, it seems we are heading toward an unrest future. However, do not panic nor worry, God has everything under control! The Lord has given us a great opportunity, in times of uncertainty, to reach out to people with the Word. Therefore, instead of hiding our heads in the sand, or crossing our arms around the chest, or ignoring the pain, concern and anxiety of our neighbors, we should take advantage of this golden opportunity to get involve in minis- tries outside the four walls of the sanctuary and reach out to people who might feel there is no hope. How can we do this? First, we must trust in God. Prophet Isaiah reminds us that God keeps us in perfect peace when we set our minds on Him and on God’s leadership. Jesus says in John 16:33 I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!’ Jesus did not panic at any point in His life; He knew His Father was in control. People living around us are hungry and thirst to hear this message of trust. Many believe that God is inactive in the world and need to know that He is in control; God is sending us into our communities with the message “trust in God, He holds the future.” Second, we must pray daily. Jesus spent most of his ministry on earth in prayer and teaching His disciples to pray. People today are desperate for prayer, they are searching for prayer partners, and small groups to pray. We can invite people to pray with us at church and we can create small prayer groups in our homes, at our workplace, in our neighborhood, community centers, and other locations. Prayer is essential in times of un- certainty, especially when God’s people get together to pray for spiritual revival in the church, in the community and the nation. Reaching out to people in our communities with prayer will help save them from themselves and self-destruction. Third, we must be willing to encourage. Many who don’t know Christ as their Sav- ior become frightened in times of uncertainty. God is calling us to encourage them to look to Jesus for strength and security as we teach them God’s Word. As we continue our journey into uncertainty the last thing we should do is give up hope. Instead, our communities need God now more than ever and need Christians like you and me reaching out to people with the Word, teaching them to trust the Lord, praying with them and for them, and encouraging them to seek Jesus for strength and security. Now is the time to put into practice the Great Commission, now is the appropriate time to grow in spirit and in number! Are you willing to take this opportunity God has given us or are you going to remain inactive while the world around you remains hopeless?

turo".

Segundo, debemos orar diariamente.

Refuse to Settle

‘They set out…to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there.’ Genesis 11:31 NIV

Are you pressing ‘on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called [you]’ (Philippians

3:14 NIV), or have you ‘settled’ along the way? God made a pact with Abraham—one that continues to influence the modern world. A lesser-

known fact is that years earlier Abraham’s father, Terah, ‘set out… to go to Canaan,’ the land of abundance where God later called Abraham. But Terah never made it: ‘When they came to

Haran, they settled there.’ No question, it couldn’t have been easy travelling hundreds of miles across rough terrain with flocks, herds, children and servants. Can you imagine the sheer logis-tics! Remember, there were no professional movers to pack and load your stuff! Finally Terah

decided they couldn’t go any farther, so they settled where they were comfortable. One pastor adds: ‘I wonder how many times we do the same thing? We have a big dream …to

excel in our careers…as parents…and in our walk with God. We get started, but things get diffi-cult and achieving our goal doesn’t happen as quickly as we hoped. Perhaps similar to Abra-ham’s father we say, “Let’s just settle here. It’s not really what we wanted, but it’s good

enough.” Don’t fall into that trap. You were made for more than “good enough”…Don’t settle for a little love and joy, a bit of peace and contentment, or a small helping of happiness… Pull up stakes, pack your tents, get your belongings, and start moving forward. Enlarge your vision.

You may have had a delay, but…you can begin again.’
