Snow in September? And ashock to the system it was for many of us.Still the longer days of summer are about tobe with us, and there are many fine and

fancy events coming up to be looking forward to.

This month we have the Heritage Week (detailsinside) and Sir Vitale has a fine frolic planned forNovember (details also inside).

Then the Siege Engine Challenge and Encamp-ment and of course, Cantebury Faire looms evercloser. How is our new garb coming along?

Speak.. . .Speak.. . .Southron Gaard grows in many different ways.

We grow in confidence as we practice our arts bothmartial and cultural, enriching our lives and thelives of those around us,

We grow in skills as members try new crafts orprojects and share the results, whether with seigeengine building or creating silk standards andbanners or other endeavours to strengthen andbrighten up our Barony.

We grow in stature when others in the KnownWorlde recognise those among us who are quick tolend a hand, to spread ideas and skills, and to askthe right questions to help improve these ModernMiddle Ages for us all.

We grow in numbers as new members are intro-duced, and when we each make the effort to bringnew faces and friends to events, most especially oc-casions like the Musters which allow the broaderworld to interact with ours.

And the overall level of activity builds as our peo-ple develop ideas they wish to pursue in the shapeof events or special occasions, and thus share theirinspiration with others.

If you have any thoughts in such directions, pleasebring them forth - talk to the Seneschal or to us,and air them so all might consider them. Aboveall, when you've worked out something that in-spires you, bring a proposal to Council!
