October has arrived and with it brings the beginning of fourth quar-
ter which is always a fun quarter. Business is always at it’s peak, two
great holiday periods and of course football season in in full swing.
Speaking of football, are you aware of where the next Meeting of the
Minds Welcome Reception will be held in February? I’ll fill you in on
this later.
This Q4 is especially exciting for us here at TRIB Group as we wel-
come a new employee! Jenifer P. Moore will be joining us as our Oper-
ations Administrator. She will become involved in everything TRIB
over time as she takes on this new role. She has been with Community
Management Associates for the past eight years and will be bringing
her experience to help TRIB move forward into new and improved ini-
tiatives.
Now, back to one of the things that TRIB Group will be heavily in-
volved in this quarter. Our annual Meeting of the Minds and Buy Fair.
Welcome Reception @ the College Football Hall of Fame
You’ve probably heard that our
Welcome Reception is being hosted
at the College Football Hall of
Fame. Many of you may be think-
ing this will only be museum type
venue with a few trophy’s, photos,
and a jersey or two mounted on a
wall. If so, you are in for the sur-
prise of your life! When you arrive,
you will head through the tunnel to
look at helmets from 760 schools on
a three-story helmet wall. Next you
can check out the indoor playing
field and Skill Zone where you can
put yourself to the test (or watch
your colleagues). You can kick field
goals, throw like a QB, or run

rybody has that. It is the will to pre-
pare to win that is important.”

The value of recognition
One of my life’s delight is hearing
one of my grandkids exclaim,
“look-it I DID IT!” There is a look
at us waiting for our response
acknowledging their achieve-
ments. Kids delight in the praise
of their parents and grandpar-
ents. In fact, it is known that
children grow intellectually when
they are praised for even the
least things they do. For us who
are parents or are around chil-
dren we see them smile and build
self-confidence in acknowledge-
ment. On the converse, we know
that reprimand such as “time
out” or whatever measures taken
by parents also make their mark
on a child. It is the balance of the
two, praise and reprimand that
help produce a well-rounded per-
son.
This also applies to our interac-
tions with our employees, co-
workers and even in our relation-
ships. The balance of praise and
correction is vital to our relation-
ships. Too much praise and you
produce someone who always ex-
pects praise even
when they don’t merit it. Too
much correction or negative feed-
back and you produce a person
who becomes stymied in their
growth and are shy to become
part of the group, team or organi-
zation.
We in our rushed and quick
paced lives may not always re-
spond to be mindful of saying
that a job is well done. We are,
too often, quick to respond nega-
tively when we have lost our pa-
tience with how things are being
done. The interesting thing is
praise when given at the right
times help make the times of cor-
rection more palatable. The same
balance we use at home with our
loved one works well in the daily
interactions with others.

The 2020 event is tagged the “Atlanta Homecoming—Back Where
it all Began.” TRIB Group was established in 1983 in Atlanta and
still maintains the corporate office in the metro area. On a person-
al note for me, Atlanta was also home of the first convention that I
was in charge of back in 2000. That’s right, I have been your Exec-
utive Director for over 19 years now and am still enjoying every
day of it!
But back to what I had touched upon earlier, the Welcome Recep-
tion. This coming year our Welcome Reception will be held on arri-
val day February 23, similar to what we did before our co-locations
with BrandSource began. This event will be at the new College
Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta. This will be an awe-
some event, so plan to arrive early on the 23rd and be ready for a
truly great social event.

The Winter Market will be here before you
know it, and your inventory of furniture may
need a refresh. Once again TRIB Group will
be hosting at the Las Vegas Market our annu-
al Think Tank meeting. If you have never at-
tended a market, it’s a spectacular buying ex-
perience. Our vendors showrooms in this ven-
ue offer the best chance to see the full line of
available product. Additional details will be
available soon. Think Tank will be held Janu-
ary 27—28, 2019.
through the obstacle course. Also, in the build-
ing is a 52-foot touch screen wall that shows
you Heisman Trophy winners and National
Championship trophies. Next visit the AT & T
Game Time where you can call real-time plays
like a sports caster! It’s a 360-degree virtual
reality experience that puts you in the middle
of the action. In addition to all of this you can
get digital face painting and even share screen
time with Rece Davis and Desmond Howard at
the interactive ESPN College GameDay Desk.
If for some reason, you just aren’t into football,
you will still have a memorable evening enjoy-
ing drinks and dinner from a venue that offers
a phenomenal view of downtown Atlanta at
night. This is going to be a special evening. Ar-
rive early on the 23rd so that you can attend.
