SPORTS The McCook Lady Bison Tennis team improved their dual record to 4-0 with wins over Hershey and North Platte yes-terday. The MHS girls will host Hastings on Tuesday. The Bison golfers are in North Platte today for their first invite of the spring. The McCook Community College men’s golf team got off to a great start to the 2019 part of the 2018-19 golf season finishing the first round of the Region IX meet in first place with Indian golfers occupying three of the top four individual scores of the day. MCC finished the round Thurs-day in Lamar with a 292 – eight shots better than second place Eastern Wyoming. The Indians started the day 20 points back in the season-long standings (60-40) to Eastern Wyoming and home to reel in the Lancers with another strong performance in the final round Friday. Sophomore Cameron Lampe (Windsor, Colo) shot an opening round Thursday of 71 to tie for first place. Freshman Chesney Tat-man (North Platte) shot a 72, good for third place. The Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference has named its 2018-2019 all-conference team as selected by the coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players. McCook Community College’s Hailey Tiles was the only unanimous pick garnering all three first-place votes. Also named to the team were Makenna Bodette and Anna San-juan. Former MCC coach Kellen Fernetti was also named co-coach of the year along with Central Community College Coach Billy Perkins.
